At 8:00 p.m. the same day, Mr. T. was taken to Ba Ria Hospital by local people in a state of severe pain, irritation, pale skin and mucous membranes, sweating, swollen and bruised right thigh and groin area, pale right leg, unable to move the toes of the right foot.
Doctor Le Duc Anh (Orthopedic Trauma Department, Ba Ria Hospital) said that immediately after receiving the victim, the hospital consulted with specialists and quickly performed emergency surgery.
"Doctors discovered that the patient had severed arteries and veins in the groin area, and a large amount of blood clots in the lower thigh. Doctors quickly reconnected the large blood vessels in the right groin area to save the patient from critical blood loss and restore the main blood vessels supplying the right lower limb," said Dr. Le Duc Anh.
The surgery lasted for more than 3 hours, the doctors performed surgery to connect the arteries, veins, tendons, and muscles to help the patient's hemodynamics stabilize, the right leg was pink, the instep and posterior tibial pulses of the right leg were clear. Doctor Le Duc Anh said that the blood vessels in the groin and right thigh are large, complex blood vessels, when damaged, a large amount of blood is lost, endangering the patient's life, so the surgery had to be performed quickly but very meticulously.
