After 2 matches, the team from the highland city got 3 points, temporarily ranked 2nd in group 1 after the home team Nha Trang University (also 3 points but only played 1 match). In the remaining group, the rookie team Quy Nhon University had an impressive debut with a 2-1 victory against the team of Nha Trang College of Tourism, thereby maintaining the opportunity to compete.

Meanwhile, the Southwest region witnessed a surprise when two strong teams, Can Tho University and Dong Thap University, said goodbye after holding each other to a 0-0 draw. Group 1 also determined the two teams to enter the semi-finals, Nam Can Tho University and Cuu Long University, having the same 4 points as Can Tho University but ranked higher due to the additional index.

Today, January 13, the final round of Group 2 of the Southwest region qualifying round took place with two matches between Tra Vinh University and Tay Do University, Vinh Long University of Technical Education and FPT University Can Tho to determine the two places in the semi-finals.
