In the last month of 2024, the inspection centers are no longer quiet and sparse with vehicles coming for inspection like in previous months. People's demand for vehicle inspection is gradually increasing again.

Queuing up for vehicle inspection at the end of the year

On December 10, Giao thong Newspaper reporters observed at a number of inspection centers across the country that people's demand for vehicle inspection had increased again compared to previous months, especially concentrated in the first two time frames of each morning and afternoon.

People's demand for car inspection increased again in the last month of 2024, many car owners had to wait when bringing their cars for inspection.

At 9am, when she brought her car to the 2903S Inspection Center (My Dinh, Hanoi), Ms. Pham Thi Mai had to wait for about 15 cars lined up in front. About an hour later, her car was finally inspected.

Ms. Mai said that her car was still due for inspection in a week, but as usual, car inspections at the end of the year are often crowded, so she took the initiative to have her car inspected to avoid a long wait. "Today I went late so I had to wait an hour, compared to the two years 2022-2023, it was still quite comfortable," Ms. Mai said.

The leader of the 2908D Vehicle Inspection Center (Hoai Duc, Hanoi) also said that people's demand for vehicle inspection has started to "heat up" again in the last month of 2024, so people have had to wait their turn to bring their vehicles for inspection in recent days, and in many cases, they no longer have to wait for their turn to get their vehicles inspected as they did last month.

"However, compared to the same period last year, people's demand for vehicle inspection has decreased. In December 2024, the inspection unit inspected an average of 120-130 vehicles per day, while in the same period last year, at least 150 vehicles were inspected per day," said the leader of Inspection Center 2908D.

In Phu Tho, the leader of the 1908D Vehicle Inspection Center also said that the demand for vehicle inspection from people in the last month of the year at this unit increased by 10-12%, with an average of 65-80 vehicles inspected each day.

In Hung Yen, because the two inspection centers in the area are still closed, the number of vehicles coming to Inspection Center 8905D has also increased, with an average of 75-80 vehicles inspected each day.

According to inspection centers, the number of vehicles inspected will increase in the last month of the year, but it will not be sudden and there will not be overload.

Vehicle inspection demand increases but not overloaded

The leader of Inspection Center 8905D (Hung Yen) said that in the last month of 2024, people's inspection needs increased but not dramatically, the unit still had surplus capacity to serve.

As one of the inspection centers with the second highest number of vehicles coming for inspection in Hanoi, since the beginning of December 2024, the number of vehicles coming to Inspection Center 2903V (Cau Giay, Hanoi) has increased compared to the previous month.

Mr. Tran Quoc Hoan, Deputy Director in charge of Inspection Center 2903V, said that on average, this unit inspects 140-150 vehicles per day, and on December 9 (the first day of the week) the number of inspected vehicles was exceptionally high, reaching 167 vehicles.

However, this output only reaches 80% of the unit's inspection capacity, especially since the number of vehicles is mainly concentrated in the early morning and afternoon, vehicles coming for inspection have to queue up to wait their turn.

"It's said to be a wait, but it's not too long, at most about an hour because customers gather for inspection early in the morning/afternoon. From 3pm to 4pm onwards, the number of vehicles coming for inspection is less," said Mr. Hoan.

According to Mr. Hoan, although people's demand for vehicle inspection has increased again, from now until the end of the year, it will remain at the current level and is unlikely to increase any higher.

Even by the second half of January 2025, near the Lunar New Year 2025, people's demand for vehicle inspection will gradually decrease, and there will be no recurrence of vehicle inspection congestion.

The leaders of the inspection centers further recommend that, to avoid wasting time, even having to re-inspecte, vehicle owners should proactively check, maintain and repair their vehicles before inspection. In particular, pay attention to parts such as: Lights (must be fully equipped, all lights are on, replacement lights must comply with regulations); brakes, tires and do not modify accessories that change the overall size and exterior dimensions of the vehicle.
