The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has just issued an official dispatch on stopping cultural, artistic, physical education and sports activities on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam Trade Union.
According to information from the Central Council for the Protection of the Health of Officials, after a period of illness, despite the devoted treatment of the Party, the State, a group of professors and doctors, and the wholehearted care of his family, due to old age and serious illness, Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, passed away at 1:38 p.m. on July 19 at the 108 Central Military Hospital.
To express the affection and respect of the working class and the Vietnam Trade Union organization for General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor requests the provincial and municipal Labor Confederations; Central and equivalent Trade Unions, General Corporation Trade Unions; and the departments and units under the General Confederation of Labor to instruct the subordinate Trade Unions at all levels to stop or postpone the organization of welcoming events, cultural, artistic, physical education, sports, festivals and the "Trade Union Meal" program on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the Founding Day of the Vietnam Trade Union.
Implementation period starts from July 20 until further notice.
