Vietnam Trade Union makes worthy contributions to the Party's revolutionary cause

On the evening of February 16, at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Labor Cultural Palace, Hanoi, the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor held the first National Conference to honor 95 outstanding workers who are members of the Communist Party of Vietnam in 2025 with the theme "Bright examples of pioneering workers".

Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the National Assembly Party Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man attended and delivered a speech.

Also attending the Conference were Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central organizations, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien.

In his speech, the National Assembly Chairman highly appreciated the initiative of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor to organize this meaningful and practical activity; thereby affirming the responsibility of the Vietnam Trade Union organization in participating in building a clean and strong Party and political system.

The National Assembly Chairman said that, thoroughly implementing the Party's policies and resolutions, in recent years, trade unions at all levels across the country have implemented many solutions to educate and train union members and introduce them to the Party for consideration of admission.

Over the past 10 years, the Trade Union nationwide has discovered, trained and introduced more than 675 thousand outstanding union members to the honor of joining the Party, accounting for 12.05% of the total number of Party members in the entire Party.

The 95 exemplary workers and party members honored today are typical examples of the party members and workers nationwide, exemplary in work and all activities, saying what they do, having proposals, initiatives, innovative and effective solutions in production labor, and Party building work at the grassroots level; trusted and highly appreciated by the Party Committee, professional management level and trade union.

On behalf of the leaders of the Party, State and Vietnam Fatherland Front, the National Assembly Chairman warmly commended, congratulated, acknowledged and highly appreciated the outstanding results that the Trade Union organization, Party members, union members and workers have achieved in the past time, especially the 95 commended Party members.

Emphasizing that entering a new stage of development for the country, an era of national growth, requires high-quality human resources, including a new-age workforce that is truly both red and professional, the National Assembly Chairman said that trade unions at all levels and trade union officials, union members, and workers, especially workers who are party members, need to promote their pioneering and exemplary roles, improve their political mettle, professional qualifications, professional skills, industrial style, and labor discipline, and strive to compete and strive to contribute to the rapid and sustainable development of our country.

The National Assembly Chairman requested the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and trade union officials, union members and workers to continue to disseminate, thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, especially on the organization and operation of trade unions, regulations related to workers; coordinate to effectively implement policies on salary reform, pension adjustment, social insurance benefits, social security policies, social housing, housing for workers and low-income workers.

In addition, focus on training and fostering to improve political capacity, qualifications, professional skills, and legal awareness of union members and workers.

Trade unions at all levels need to proactively implement solutions to improve the effectiveness of propaganda, education, source creation, training, and introduction of Party membership for union members in general and workers in particular. Developing union members and establishing grassroots unions are prerequisites for building and developing Party organizations in enterprises.

The National Assembly Chairman noted that it is necessary to regularly grasp and listen to the thoughts and aspirations of workers, continue to innovate and improve the effectiveness of the performance of the task of representing, caring for and protecting the rights of workers, and create trust and close attachment between union members and workers and the Trade Union organization.

The National Assembly Chairman hopes that the 95 typical examples honored today will continue to strive, spread their experiences, and the spirit of innovation and creativity to become propagandists and strong inspirations to motivate union members and workers to strive and become Party members.

In particular, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, union officials, union members, and workers need to spread the positive spirit, the desire to rise up, the belief, the new determination, and the new spirit among all workers and laborers, especially the messages of General Secretary To Lam, which are also the Party's leadership and direction policies on the era of national rise, urging the spirit of action, innovation, daring to think, daring to do, daring to take responsibility; carrying out the revolution in the organization of the cadre apparatus; strongly developing science, technology, digital transformation; reforming administrative procedures, preventing corruption, negativity, and waste.

These are issues that the entire political system, the entire people, and the entire army need to immediately and effectively implement in practice.

The National Assembly Chairman believes that in the coming time, the Trade Union will have new and stronger developments, making worthy contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation, further enhancing the glorious tradition of the working class and the Vietnam Trade Union, actively contributing to the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country, for the goal of "rich people, strong country, democracy, fairness, and civilization."

Earlier, in his opening speech at the Conference, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang affirmed that as a large socio-political organization of the working class and laborers, the Vietnam Trade Union is always deeply aware of its role and responsibility in participating in building a clean and strong Party and political system.

The work of developing party members in general and party members among workers in particular is specified in the Congress Resolutions and annual tasks of trade union levels.

In the 2018-2023 period, trade unions at all levels introduced more than 700,000 outstanding union members to the Party for consideration and admission, of which the number of outstanding union members admitted reached nearly 400,000 comrades (an increase of 1.4 times compared to the 2013-2018 term).

In 2024 alone, the first year of implementing the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, trade unions at all levels introduced 158,813 outstanding union members for the Party to consider training and admission, of which the number of outstanding union members admitted was 80,327 comrades; Party members who are workers accounted for nearly 10%.

The 95 exemplary workers who are party members honored today were carefully and rigorously screened and selected through many rounds and levels; they are present in most industries, localities and in many types of enterprises.

These are shining examples for workers and union members nationwide to learn from and follow, creating motivation and inspiration for many workers to strive to become members of the Communist Party of Vietnam./.
