Currently, many hospitals do not have enough blood units and blood products to serve emergency and treatment for patients. Voluntary blood donation is an activity with profound humanitarian meaning, beautifying the tradition of mutual love of our nation. Blood donation does not take much time and effort but is very necessary for society and beneficial for health, blood donation helps increase new blood production, reduce iron overload, reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, stroke and cancer, the amount of donated blood will be quickly regenerated by the body to serve the circulation process.

Promoting the tradition of humanity "love others as you love yourself", responding to the National Blood Donation Day on April 7 and the call of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong: "Compatriots, comrades, soldiers nationwide, each healthy person who meets the criteria, should always be ready, enthusiastically participate in blood donation and actively mobilize everyone to donate blood regularly to save people to help each person check their health, save the sick, for a healthy and humane society, contributing to the cause of protecting, caring for and improving people's health, the sustainable development of the country", the Trade Union of the Department of Foreign Information organized the launch of the 2024 voluntary blood donation campaign with the message "Every drop of blood given - A life remains", sharing their drops of blood to save the sick, considering it the joy and responsibility of each trade union member to the community.

Sharing with us, Mr. Dinh Tien Dung said: “Donating blood to save lives is a very practical and meaningful thing. For many years, union members of the Department of Foreign Information have participated in voluntary blood donation, but it has not become a collective movement, so the spread has not been great. As Chairman of the Union, I hope to spread this noble action to all union members of the Department. Hopefully, this will be the first step to create an annual and possibly quarterly movement in the Department of Foreign Information Union.”
