On the morning of February 3, General Secretary To Lam handed over decisions on the functions, tasks, and organizational structure of the Party Central Committee Office and congratulated Mr. Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, on his appointment as Chief of the Party Central Committee Office. Mr. Le Hoai Trung assumed the new position, replacing Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc.
Previously, on January 23, the 13th Party Central Committee elected Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc to hold the position of member of the 13th Politburo and Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission.
Mr. Le Hoai Trung was born in 1961, hometown Hue city; advanced degree in political theory; Doctor of Law, Master of International Law and Diplomacy.
He was a member of the Party Central Committee for two terms (XII, XIII); a delegate to the 15th National Assembly. Before being appointed to the position of Chief of the Party Central Office, he was Head of the Central External Relations Commission.
Mr. Le Hoai Trung is a professional diplomat with extensive experience in various fields of bilateral and multilateral foreign affairs.
Growing up as a specialist in the Department of General Political Affairs (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), during his career, he served as Third Secretary; Minister Counselor, Deputy Head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations.
He held the position of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs from December 2010 and was reappointed in October 2014, after completing his term as Ambassador, Head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations, New York, USA (2011-2014).
Mr. Le Hoai Trung is a member of the Party Central Committee, holding the position of Deputy Minister and Chairman of the National Border Committee since May 2016.
In March 2021, he was transferred and appointed to the position of Head of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission.
In October 2023, at the 8th Conference, the Central Executive Committee elected him to hold the position of member of the Secretariat of the 13th Party Central Committee.
