The 800-year-old Troi tree is located in the cultural house of Vinh Thang village, Huong Vinh commune, Huong Khe district ( Ha Tinh ). The tree is 27m high, with a trunk circumference of 8.2m, a canopy of 40m, lush branches and leaves, and a bark with many lumps and rough veins.
The drifting tree is a species of tree belonging to the family of trees such as the ebony, the ebony, and the mango. In the dry season, local people often come here to sit and enjoy the cool breeze. The driftwood tree is protected like a treasure, we often come here to clean and take care of the tree. In addition to blooming on one side, the driftwood tree can predict a bumper crop through the appearance of new leaves every year," said Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga (80 years old, resident of Huong Vinh commune).
The towering banyan tree, which has existed for centuries, is considered the “guardian angel” of Vinh Thang village. This ancient tree is not only a precious natural heritage but also the soul and pride of many generations of people here.
The 800-year-old driftwood tree in Huong Khe district has been recognized as a heritage tree by the Vietnam Heritage Tree Council.
Many locals say the tree has very unique flowers, blooming only on one side each year.

According to the leader of Huong Vinh commune, the recognition of Vietnam heritage trees helps protect biodiversity, the richness of the flora and promote local cultural history. In the coming time, the local government will plan to build a campus to better protect the trees.
