On the morning of February 4 (the 7th day of the Lunar New Year), in Tien Son commune, Duy Tien town, Ha Nam province, the Tich Dien Doi Son Festival took place in 2025. According to historical records, the Tich Dien festival originated from the story of King Le Dai Hanh personally plowing the fields at the foot of Doi mountain in the spring of 987, demonstrating the spirit of "di nong vi ban" (taking agriculture as the root). Since then, later dynasties have continued to maintain the festival solemnly and respectfully. However, over the course of history, the festival has gradually faded away. It was not until 2009 that Ha Nam province restored this festival, attracting a large number of people and tourists from all over the world to participate.

The festival opens with a dragon dance ritual showing respect to heaven and earth and wishing for a good new year with everything going as planned.

Combined with the dragon dance is the drum beating ceremony performed by the local people.

The dragon dance combined with the sound of festival drums and the cheers of the people created a bustling atmosphere at the beginning of the new year.

Artist Pham Chi Khang, on behalf of the people, read the presentation before the altar of Than Nong and the spirit tablet of King Le Dai Hanh.

Delegates performed a ritual to pay homage to Than Nong and King Le Dai Hanh, praying for favorable weather and bountiful crops in the new year.

After the incense offering ceremony, an elder performed the king's spiritual transformation ceremony, put on a royal robe, put on a mask, transformed into a king, and solemnly walked down to the field to plow.

The image of the king plowing the fields at the beginning of the new year is recreated at the festival.

Following behind were village girls sowing seeds to pray for a good harvest in the new year.

Many people and tourists eagerly come to see the "king of plowing" at the beginning of the year.

In addition to the plowing ceremony, at the Doi Son Tich Dien Festival, there are also folk games such as crossing the monkey bridge, swinging... which not only bring joy but also vividly recreate the traditional culture of the Vietnamese countryside.
