Previously, on August 3, 2024, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 790/QD-TTg approving the Binh Duong Provincial Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.

Binh Duong province's planning includes the entire administrative area of ​​the province with a total natural area of ​​2,694.64 km2, including 9 district-level administrative units (5 cities: Thu Dau Mot, Thuan An, Di An, Tan Uyen, Ben Cat and 4 districts: Bau Bang, Dau Tieng, Phu Giao, Bac Tan Uyen).

According to the plan, Binh Duong identifies development links with localities in the Southeast region, aiming to turn this area into an economic, financial, scientific and innovation center of Vietnam and Southeast Asia. The province's plan is consistent with the National Socio-Economic Development Strategy and the Southeast region's plans.

The province is also committed to putting people at the center, with the goal of improving the quality of life and attracting high-quality human resources. The planning prioritizes the development of modern, smart urban, industrial and service infrastructure. In particular, Binh Duong will promote the construction of economic, industrial and urban corridors associated with inter-regional transport systems.

The general goal by 2030 is that Binh Duong will become a centrally-governed city; one of the dynamic and comprehensive development centers of Southeast Asia; a leader in science, technology and innovation, a modern industrial and service center; a synchronous, modern, smart and sustainable development of the socio-economic infrastructure system and urban system following the green growth model, adapting to climate change, and protecting the ecological environment. Improving the quality of people's lives, building a prosperous, modern and civilized society; ensuring national defense - security and social order and safety.

Specific economic goals: average economic growth rate in the 2021-2030 period will reach about 10%/year, average GRDP per capita in 2030 will reach about 15,800 USD; economic structure in 2030: industry and construction account for 64%; service sector accounts for 28%; agriculture, forestry and fishery account for 2%; product tax minus product subsidy accounts for 6%; urbanization rate 88-90%; digital economy proportion reaches 30% of GRDP.

The population by 2030 will reach 4.04 million people (of which the official population is 3.48 million people; the converted population is 0.56 million people); the rate of trained workers will reach over 87%, of which 40% will have degrees; the rate of schools meeting national standards will reach over 80%; the number of doctors per 10,000 people will reach 19 doctors; 35 beds per 10,000 people will reach 35; the rate of population participating in health insurance will be over 95%; the rate of poor households according to the new multidimensional poverty standard will be under 1.0%...

Binh Duong Province’s master plan for the vision to 2050 aims to develop the province into a modern urban, industrial and service center of national and international stature. Binh Duong will become one of the main driving forces of the national economy, with industry, services and innovation as the foundation.

On the occasion of the planning announcement, the People's Committee of Binh Duong province also officially launched a number of key projects, including Ring Road 4, Ho Chi Minh City - Chon Thanh Expressway, Cay Truong Industrial Park and WTC Binh Duong Complex. These projects promise to create important momentum for the province's socio-economic development in the future.
