Com Bac Ha is a famous dish of the Tay people here, made according to the traditional method so the rice grains are soft, have a natural green color and a rich aroma. Rice used to make com is usually upland sticky rice, the rice grains are shiny and green. Com is wrapped in fresh dong leaves, helping to preserve it for a long time while still ensuring its fragrance and softness.
Black Chung cake is also a local specialty, made from many ingredients but there is a special ingredient from Núc Nác charcoal powder, which makes the difference. Núc Nác charcoal powder gives the cake a unique flavor, with a cooling effect. Bac Ha black Chung cake has the fatty taste of pork belly, the aroma of cardamom and sticky rice, becoming a unique tourist product.

In recent years, “Bac Ha Green Rice” and “Bac Ha Black Banh Chung” have been key and advantageous products, contributing to poverty reduction, new rural construction and socio-economic development in the locality. Based on the reality and wishes of the people and the locality, the establishment of certification labels for “Bac Ha Black Banh Chung” and “Bac Ha Green Rice” is very necessary.
The project was implemented from June 2022 to June 2024, including the following contents: Collecting documents and conducting surveys, collecting samples; developing criteria for registering certification trademarks; determining the organization certifying the recognition trademarks of "Bac Ha Black Banh Chung" and "Bac Ha Green Rice"; designing the certification trademark model and the system of means of promoting the products; developing and promulgating the Regulations on management and use of certification trademarks, developing a dossier for registering product certification trademarks, etc.

After 2 years of project implementation and after a period of appraisal and approval of documents, the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam has granted the Certificate of Right to Use the Certification Trademark "Bac Ha Black Chung Cake" to 20 individuals and households eligible to use the Certification Trademark.
At the same time, the Certificate of Right to Use the Certification Mark “Com Bac Ha” was granted to 25 individuals and households who are eligible to use the Certification Mark “Com Bac Ha”. The validity period of the right to use the Certification Mark “Com Bac Ha” is specified in the Certificate of Right to Use the Certification Mark. Individuals and households are responsible for complying with relevant regulations and contributing funds for using the certification mark (if any) as prescribed.
The certified trademarks “Com Bac Ha” and “Bac Ha black sticky rice cake” will affirm the quality and brand of the products, enhance the value as well as expand the market for goods consumption, thereby actively contributing to the economic development of the locality.
