Dong Hop Commune Police: Implementing well the emulation movement "For National Security"

Dong Hop Commune (Dong Hung) is located at the gateway to the district, with National Highway 10 running through it, creating favorable conditions for people to do business and develop the socio-economy, but also posing potential risks of insecurity and order (ANTT), traffic safety (ATGT). Therefore, Dong Hop Commune Police have stepped up propaganda and mobilized cadres and people to effectively implement the emulation movement "For National Security", contributing to ensuring ANTT and Traffic Safety in the locality.

Dong Hop Commune Police is one of the first three units in the province to complete issuing electronic chip-embedded citizen identification cards to people.

As a footwear business owner, Mr. Pham Van Manh, Phong Loi Tay village, is very aware that fires and explosions will cause great damage to people and property. As soon as Dong Hop Commune Police started building a model of inter-family fire safety and prevention team, he and 8 other households voluntarily participated.

Mr. Manh said: I find this a very meaningful job because ensuring fire safety at businesses will proactively prevent possible fire and explosion risks. I have purchased fire alarms and equipment to be ready to participate in firefighting when a fire occurs. Since joining the inter-family group, I feel more secure in my business. Households connect information with each other through the fire alarm system. If there is an incident, just press the bell and other members will be present with full fire fighting equipment, helping to make firefighting faster and more proactive.

Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Viet Vu, Head of Dong Hop Commune Police, said: Dong Hop Commune has 4 villages with 1,690 households and 5,839 people. From the beginning of the year, implementing the direction of the Provincial Police leaders on establishing a model of inter-family fire safety teams, the Commune Police have advised the Party Committee and local authorities to develop content and plans to propagate and mobilize households, production establishments, businesses, and enterprises in the area to participate. The target assigned by the Provincial Police leaders is that by the end of May 2023, Dong Hop Commune will build 20 models of inter-family fire safety teams and 1 public fire fighting point; but with the timely advice of the Commune Police and the active direction of the Party Committee and local authorities, and the participation of all classes of people, by the end of March 2023, Dong Hop Commune has established 23 models, built 2 public fire fighting points, and excellently completed the assigned tasks. In addition, Dong Hop Commune Police is also a bright spot in the whole province as one of the first three units to complete the issuance of electronic chip-embedded citizen identification cards to the people, and was awarded a certificate of merit by the Provincial Police Director as "Exemplary Unit in Good Compliance with the People's Public Security Regulations". Currently, officers and soldiers are actively supporting and guiding people to set up electronic identification accounts, contributing to speeding up the implementation of Project 06 of the Government.

Not only has Dong Hop commune excelled in issuing electronic chip-embedded citizen identification cards, in recent years, it has always been a bright spot in ensuring security and order and traffic safety in Dong Hung district. Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Viet Vu said: The commune police have focused on propagating and mobilizing people to respond to and participate in the emulation movement "For the security of the Fatherland", combined with propagating that business households do not encroach on roadsides and traffic safety corridors. The whole commune has established 11 self-managed teams on security and order and traffic safety that operate regularly and effectively, contributing to reducing the number of property thefts in the area. People actively cooperate in fighting and denouncing crimes, providing many valuable sources of information to the police force.

Mr. Pham Van Be, Phong Loi Tay village shared: Since the return of regular police officers, the situation of security and order, traffic safety in the commune has improved a lot. People feel secure in working and producing. The situation of students not wearing helmets, driving in the wrong direction causing traffic safety has also decreased. Especially, during the period when the whole country joined hands to prevent and fight the Covid-19 epidemic, officers and soldiers of the commune police regularly propagated and mobilized people to strictly implement regulations on disease prevention and control, and did a good job of reporting to help limit the spread of the epidemic in the locality.

Mr. Dang Van Dung, Secretary of the Party Committee of Dong Hop Commune, assessed: Despite many difficulties, the lack of facilities and equipment, the Commune Police always proactively advises the local Party Committee and authorities to do a good job of ensuring security and order and traffic safety. Officers and soldiers are very close to the grassroots, coordinating with security forces in the villages to regularly handle incidents, not allowing them to develop into hot spots. Therefore, in recent years, the number of cases of illegal drug trafficking and use, gambling, property theft, disputes, fighting, etc. in the commune has decreased significantly. The local economy has developed, creating favorable conditions for the early completion of the criteria for building advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas. For many consecutive years, the Dong Hop Commune Police have been commended by the Provincial Police and District Police for their outstanding achievements in implementing the emulation movement "For National Security".
