Representatives of the Women's Union of Trang Bao Xa commune (Quynh Phu) and Ms. Vu Thi Nhuan support training in basket weaving and plastic basket weaving for local female workers.

Previously, the economic conditions of Ms. Vu Thi Tam's family, a member of the Women's Union of Quynh Ngoc commune, were difficult, with unstable income, causing many obstacles to family life and her children's education. With the will and courage of a woman, Ms. Tam always struggled to find ways to escape poverty, trying to bring a better and more prosperous life to her children. She shared: With support from the Bank for Social Policies, Quynh Phu District Branch and participating in training courses and technology transfer organized by the Women's Union of the commune, I have successfully maintained a model of raising chickens and pigs. Every year, I raise about 5,000 - 6,000 chickens and more than 100 pigs, after deducting expenses, I earn a profit of 200 - 300 million VND. In addition, I also plant 1 more acre of rice and have a milling machine. Thanks to that, the family's economy is now more stable, and they have the conditions to send two children to university.

Not only Mrs. Tam's family, many other members and women have also overcome difficulties, have jobs and stable incomes thanks to the care and support in terms of seeds, capital and production techniques. Ms. Vu Thi Nguyen, President of the Women's Union of Quynh Ngoc commune, shared: The whole commune has 1,476 members and women. Promoting the advantages of the alluvial land, cadres, members and women in the commune actively share experiences in agricultural production, build and replicate models for sustainable economic efficiency such as: raising cows, raising poultry, growing fruit trees, growing vegetables... Thanks to that, in recent years, the number of members' and women's households who are well-off and rich has increased quite rapidly.

Ms. Vu Thi Nhuan, Khang Ninh village, Trang Bao Xa commune is known as a responsible, dynamic, daring person and one of the women in the district who successfully started a business when she was nearly 60 years old. In 2017, when she was the head of the Women's Association of the village, Ms. Nhuan had the opportunity to meet a business specializing in exporting handicrafts. Faced with many difficulties in the local economy and a large surplus of female labor, she decided to learn a trade and find a new direction for herself and the local women. Ms. Nhuan shared: After learning the trade, I decided to open a basket weaving and rattan weaving facility in the commune, receiving products to make and training the women. At peak times, my facility attracted about 100 local women to work, each person earning an average of about 3.5 million VND/month.

To achieve the results today, Ms. Nhuan has received a lot of support from the Women's Union of the commune and the Provincial Branch of the Bank for Social Policies in terms of preferential loans and participation in training courses and experience exchange. Ms. Bui Thi Lam, President of the Women's Union of Trang Bao Xa commune, said: To support members and women starting a business, the Union has compiled the needs of women who want to start a business and supported them to participate in training courses suitable to each person's needs. Along with that, the Union stands as a credit guarantee for loans from the Bank for Social Policies for women to start a business to increase income for members and women in the commune, ensuring social security in the area.

Ms. Dinh Thi Hong Thai, President of the Women's Union of Quynh Phu district, said: Implementing the project to support women in starting a business in the period of 2017 - 2027, the Union has directed the grassroots women's unions to review members and women who want to start a business and start a business to provide advice and support on knowledge and investment capital for development. In 2024 alone, the Union guided members and women of the three communes of An Vu, Quynh Tho, and Quynh Nguyen to develop business ideas to participate in the contest "Women's creative start-ups and green transformation"; the Women's Union of Quynh Hoi commune launched a cooperative group of festival drums and five-thunder drums; the Women's Union of Chau Son commune launched a cooperative group of 45 members in growing water chestnuts; and at the same time maintained the activities of 10 established cooperative groups. The grassroots unions coordinated with companies and production establishments to provide vocational training, introduce jobs, and create jobs for 1,425 members and women. Accompanying the women, the Association has coordinated with the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, the Bank for Social Policies, Quynh Phu District Branch to help 5,091 member households and women borrow capital (as of the end of September 2024) with a total outstanding loan of more than 270 billion VND. Through activities to build economic development models and support start-up ideas, it has helped raise awareness among members, women and people about the Party's policies and the State's laws on start-ups. In the coming time, the Quynh Phu District Women's Union will continue to mobilize resources from many programs and projects to accompany, support and support members and women to have conditions for economic development.
