Bamboo Capital shares hit the floor after former Chairman Nguyen Ho Nam was prosecuted

This morning (March 3), BCG shares of Bamboo Capital Joint Stock Company opened the session at the floor price, down to 5,360 VND. By around 10:00, nearly 4.1 million shares had been traded, but there were more than 71 million shares left on the floor price while the buyers were empty. Similarly, the shares of three subsidiaries of Bamboo Capital, namely BCR of BCG Land Joint Stock Company and BGE, BCG Energy Joint Stock Company and TCD of Industrial and Transport Development Investment Joint Stock Company (Tracodi), also simultaneously hit the floor price. These stocks are all in a situation where sell orders at the floor price are piling up with a volume of several tens of millions of units while the sellers are empty.

Of which, TCD shares are trading on the HOSE and fell to the floor price of 4,000 VND. BCR shares are trading on the UPCoM and plummeted to 3,800 VND; BGE also trades on the UPCoM and fell to the floor price of 4,800 VND. These shares have fallen more than 40% compared to the beginning of the year.

Bamboo Capital's stocks plummeted despite the VN-Index still increasing by more than 1.3 points to 1,306.82 points. The reason is believed to be that over the weekend, the company announced information about the decision to prosecute the case and the decision to prosecute Mr. Nguyen Ho Nam - former Chairman of the Board of Directors (BOD). Regarding issues related to this case, BCG said it will disclose information transparently in accordance with legal regulations to protect the rights of shareholders. Bamboo Capital affirmed that the company's operations are still operating normally because Mr. Nguyen Ho Nam has resigned and no longer holds any positions at the company since April 27, 2024.

In addition to Mr. Nam, several key leaders at the subsidiaries were also prosecuted, such as Ms. Huynh Thi Kim Tuyen - Vice Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of BCG Land Joint Stock Company and Deputy General Director Le Nong. Ms. Huynh Thi Kim Tuyen is also Vice Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Tracodi and a member of the Board of Supervisors of BCG Energy (BGE).
