For the internship position, the company does not require too much experience but will pay attention to the candidate's personality to find the right person who can stick with the company for a long time."

Some other students such as Dinh Van Tien (4th year of public relations at Van Lang University) proactively sought internship opportunities at companies during their studies.

Tien said that when he was a second-year student, he was accepted as an intern at Timo Bank. After 2 years of hard work, from the intern position, Tien has officially become a growth specialist at this bank.

Sharing the secret to becoming an official employee after the internship, Tien said: "First, students should clearly determine whether the company has a recruitment need or not. If so, they should take advantage of the opportunity to demonstrate a good working attitude. Almost every business loves employees who create valuable products and bring high profits. Besides, professional skills are an indispensable factor, so interns should try to explore and learn from their colleagues or other "Internet courses make the job easier."

What should students pay attention to during their internship?

To make the internship more effective, Vo Ngoc Chi Hieu said that students should discuss specifically with the instructor about their requirements for the interns, proactively ask for comments from the manager to gain experience. Next, students should consider carefully when choosing a business because some units do not spend time guiding new employees.

Dinh Van Tien advises interns to save the products they create to present in their resumes. According to Tien, during the internship, students must try to work and expand their network of relationships within the company and elsewhere. "Every profession needs relationships to facilitate the exchange of information, helping work to be more effective," Tien shared.

Master Tran Nam, Head of Student Affairs Department, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City, noted that the transition from the classroom environment to the working environment is a process. Therefore, students need to proactively seek information related to professional work and practice.

"To have a good quality internship is a combination of many aspects. Students need to have a good grasp of specialized knowledge related to the internship position. For example, tourism students need to summarize knowledge related to tour guiding, tour operation, etc. Next, look for important information about corporate culture, avoid the case of 'riding a horse to see flowers', wasting both parties' time", Mr. Nam noted.

In addition, Ms. Huynh Huu Truc Phuong, Director of Enso Vietnam Training and Consulting Company, said that no business wants to accept interns with good academic results but lacking soft skills, and no company likes employees with knowledge and skills but not healthy enough to work.

Regarding job opportunities after the internship, Ms. Truc Phuong emphasized that the working attitude during the internship is one of the decisive factors. "Companies really like diligent interns who know how to apply the knowledge they have learned to work. The company will 'retain' a few potential candidates to continue working with the company. However, there are interns with good abilities but want to stay, so they should boldly express their wishes to the instructor," Ms. Truc Phuong concluded.
