With the attention of local authorities and the support of agencies, units, businesses and philanthropists through the "For the Poor" Fund, many poor households and households in especially difficult circumstances in Yen Lap district have been able to live in solidarity houses, helping them to reduce difficulties, escape poverty and stabilize their lives.
Yen Lap district leaders presented gifts to Mr. Nguyen Van That in Lien Hiep area, Xuan An commune on the groundbreaking day of the construction of the great unity house.
Implementing the Movement "The whole country joins hands for the poor, leaving no one behind", the Fatherland Front Committee of Yen Lap district has coordinated well in social security work, mobilizing support for the Fund "For the Poor".
In the past 5 years, the Fatherland Front at all levels in the district has called for and mobilized support for the "For the Poor" Fund with more than 2.7 billion VND; coordinated to support the repair and renovation of 150 solidarity houses for poor households with a total amount of 6.7 billion VND.
The Fatherland Front at all levels has coordinated with member organizations to actively mobilize, organize visits and give Tet gifts to 23,273 poor people and prestigious people in the community, mobilize support for people in the district and the Central provinces affected by natural disasters, storms and floods...
Many poor households were supported to build houses such as Mrs. Dinh Thi Thom's family in Mo area, Yen Lap town; Mr. Phung Van Chinh, in Quyet Tien area, Minh Hoa commune; Mr. Sa Dinh Bich in area 7, My Lung commune; Mrs. Hoang Thi Xinh's family in area 7, Xuan Vien commune...
The effective implementation of activities for the poor, social security programs, humanitarian and charitable programs of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee at all levels of Yen Lap district has helped poor households, poor people, and vulnerable groups escape poverty sustainably, have a more fulfilling life, contribute to improving the quality of people's lives, and reduce the poverty rate by an average of 1.4%/year.
As a mountainous district with many difficulties, the poverty rate of Yen Lap district is currently 10.13%, and the near-poor rate is 8.13%. In 2024, the whole district will have 150 poor households in need of temporary housing, of which 95 households are in extremely difficult circumstances and are unable to build houses. With the spirit of solidarity, mutual assistance and support, leaving no one behind, the Party Committee, the government, the Fatherland Front and its member organizations, businesses, organizations and individuals inside and outside the district continue to mobilize, contribute and support, and help the poor, the disadvantaged, and those affected by natural disasters and epidemics... to have solid, secure houses, stable lives.
On the occasion of launching the emulation movement to welcome the 15th Provincial Fatherland Front Congress, term 2024-2029, from the "For the Poor" Fund to support each household with 50 million VND, the solidarity houses of the families: Mrs. Phan Thi Den in An Lac area, Dong Lac commune; Mr. Nguyen Van That in Lien Hiep area, Xuan An commune; Mr. Dinh Van Su, a poor household in Bang Thung area, Dong Thinh commune, were started.
Mr. Nguyen Van That, Lien Hiep area, Xuan An commune, emotionally shared: “Without the attention of the State, the Fatherland Front and kind-hearted people, I don’t know when my family would be able to build a solid house. Having a solid house has been my family’s dream for many years, we don’t have to worry about the house leaking every time it rains heavily.”
Not only from the "For the Poor" Fund at all levels but also from the funds of the Red Cross, Farmers' Association, Women's Union, Veterans' Association... and the support of philanthropists, businesses, organizations, and individuals who have unanimously shared to have more solidarity houses, humanitarian houses, "Farmer's Affection" shelters, "Loved-Hearted Homes", "Comrades' Affection" shelters...
Each poor household whose temporary or dilapidated house is removed is a source of motivation and confidence for the poor to rise up in labor and production, gradually escape poverty, stabilize their lives, and at the same time demonstrate the spirit of mutual love of the community, multiplying the strength of great national unity.
