In order to strengthen the prevention of domestic violence and protect the legitimate rights of women and children, the Women's Union of Thanh Son district has deployed the model "Community Trusted Address" in many communes in the area. This model not only contributes to the dissemination of laws on gender equality but also becomes a safe haven for the vulnerable in society.
As a safe haven for women and children in ethnic minority areas, the “Community Trust Address” model in Yen Lang commune has actively promoted its role in preventing gender-based domestic violence. The model consists of 11 members and has a temporary shelter in the commune. The members are prestigious people in the community, with the skills to propagate and mobilize people to join hands in preventing and combating violence and resolving conflicts in life.

Through regular meetings, the model of "Community Trust Address" has helped members and people in the commune improve their knowledge about gender equality, preventing and combating domestic violence; helping and supporting victims of domestic violence in a timely manner to have a temporary shelter, avoiding health risks and mobilizing the community to participate in preventing and combating domestic violence.
Since its establishment, the model has promptly reconciled cases of conflict and risk of domestic violence. After being propagated, mobilized, and consulted on conflict resolution, it has helped family members raise awareness, change attitudes and behaviors, effectively prevent and combat violence, and build happy families.
Ms. Dinh Thi Noi, Go Da area, Yen Lang commune shared: “By participating in the communication sessions of a trusted address, I learned more about how to prevent domestic violence, understand the law and children's rights, child care, and the benefits of family happiness. In the family, husband and wife should not raise their voices or fight, must be equal and work together to build a happy family.”
In addition, members of the “Community Trust Address” listened to the stories of households and women; shared and advised them to help them resolve their concerns and worries so that they could have more confidence and play their role well in the family and community. At the same time, women confidently participated in developing economic models to increase family income.

“Community Trust Address” is one of the models under Project 8 “Implementing gender equality and solving urgent issues for women and children” under the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas for the 2021-2030 period.
After 3 years of implementing Project 8, it has initially brought positive results in eliminating gender prejudice and gender stereotypes in ethnic minority areas. Accordingly, the district has established 263 models of "Community Trust Addresses" in the areas and 6 models of "Community Trust Addresses" with temporary shelters with 66 members in the communes. At the same time, 28 training courses were organized to guide capacity building for the Community Communication Team and Project 8 communication classes, communication of marriage and family law, early marriage, gender equality with thousands of women members and people attending...
Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Lo Thi Quynh Nga district said that the model "Trusted Address in the Community" has promoted the role of advising, proactively integrating, mobilizing resources, and mobilizing the participation of all levels and sectors in implementing activities to provide knowledge and skills for cadres, women's union members and people on the awareness of complying with the law on preventing and combating domestic violence.

Along with that, the Association organizes activities to provide knowledge on parenting education, child care and education, good traditional values in the family, knowledge on organizing family life...; Regularly monitor, grasp, detect, and report to the authorities on domestic violence; promptly speak up, coordinate and participate in promptly resolving cases of women and children suffering from violence.
In the coming time, Thanh Son district will continue to promote the role of models in propaganda, mobilization and communication activities to strongly promote the fundamental resolution of inequality for women and girls; build a safe living environment for women and children, help them confidently excel in studying, working, and building equal, progressive and happy families.
