Reviewing the heroic past of the army and people of Quang Dien over the past 50 years, Party Committee member, Secretary of Quang Dien District Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Minh affirmed: 50 years ago, on March 25, 1975, the Party Committee, government, army and people of Quang Dien district were extremely excited, welcoming a major event in the history of the revolutionary struggle, which was the day Quang Dien district was liberated.

This event created great strength, encouraged and motivated the entire front, contributing to increasing the position and strength in the fields of armed struggle, politics and diplomacy, towards the complete liberation of the South and the unification of the country. After 21 years of fighting against the US to save the country, the Party Committee and the People of Quang Dien were loyal to the Party, followed Uncle Ho's teachings, determined to fight and defeat the US.

Looking back at the glorious struggle of the Party Committee, army and people of Quang Dien in the general offensive and uprising in the Spring of 1975; reviewing the difficulties, hardships, noble sacrifices and glorious victories that the Party Committee, army and people of the district achieved under the leadership of the Party, we appreciate the past even more and cherish and preserve the achievements of the Revolution.

Former officers and soldiers of the armed forces, militia, guerrillas, and revolutionary bases who participated in the liberation of Quang Dien reunited at the commemoration ceremony.

Up to now, Quang Dien district has been recognized by the Prime Minister as a district meeting new rural standards, 3 communes have completed the criteria of advanced new rural communes, and 6 villages have been recognized as model new rural villages. From a party cell with 4 party members, after 88 years of formation, construction and development, up to now, the Quang Dien district Party Committee has 48 branches and grassroots party committees with more than 2,901 party members. The Party Committee has gone through 14 congresses, marking the continuous growth of the Quang Dien district Party Committee.

The Party Committee, army and people of Quang Dien district are striving to successfully implement the Resolution of the 14th District Party Congress with the determination to build Quang Dien to meet the standards of an advanced new rural district; contributing with the entire Party, people and army to build Hue worthy of being a city directly under the Central Government.

In an emotional moment, at the ceremony, Mr. Cao Xuan Phu, former Acting Secretary of the Quang Dien District Party Committee, on behalf of former cadres, soldiers of the armed forces, militia, guerrillas, and revolutionary bases who participated in the liberation of Quang Dien, shared: “The war has long gone, the heroic memories and lessons from history are still valuable. The generation of former cadres and soldiers of the armed forces, militia, and guerrillas - those who were lucky enough to return after the war - always remember and cherish those years. We, the previous generation, the children of Quang Dien homeland, are proud to have contributed a small part to today's total victory.”  

Sharing the joy with the Party Committee, government, army and people of Quang Dien district, Permanent Deputy Secretary of Hue City Party Committee Pham Duc Tien emphasized: Every cadre, party member and people of Quang Dien, especially the young generation, must continue to promote the heroic revolutionary tradition, solidarity, aspiration to rise up, innovate, strongly apply science and technology, digital transformation to exploit and promote resources to promote the socio-economic development of the district.

We must turn the great potentials that nature has bestowed from the lagoon system, the sea route, and the rich local products into a land that is increasingly attractive to tourists and businesses. The Party, army and people of Quang Dien must continue to promote the heroic tradition, solidarity, joint efforts, and efforts to overcome all difficulties, determined to bring Quang Dien to further development, contributing to the rapid and sustainable development of Hue city.
