Inheriting and promoting the tradition of "Protecting the nation and bringing peace to the people" of Vietnamese Buddhism, monks, nuns and Buddhists of Vinh Gia Pagoda, Phu Xuan Commune (Thai Binh City) always actively participate in the emulation movement to build "Exemplary Pagodas of 4 Landscapes", contributing to the good implementation of local political tasks.

Monks and Buddhists of Vinh Gia Pagoda keep the landscape green - clean - beautiful.

Visiting Vinh Gia Pagoda (Long Muc Thien Tu) after completing the renovation and rebuilding of the spacious Tam Bao main hall, we felt the excitement of the monks, nuns, Buddhists and local people.

Ms. Duong Thi Hoa, a Buddhist of Vinh Gia Pagoda, shared: Vinh Gia Pagoda is an ancient pagoda, built hundreds of years ago, and has been degraded. Since the pagoda had a monk as its abbot, the pagoda has mobilized social resources to build and restore the Mother Goddess Temple and the Ancestor Temple, and now the main hall of the Three Jewels. People have a place to practice their beliefs and worship Buddha, so everyone is happy and excited. For more than 10 years now, I have been going to the pagoda every day to do volunteer work with the Buddhists, both helping with the pagoda work and listening to the monk preach about the Buddha's beautiful teachings. I feel calm and peaceful. Every bed of green vegetables and garden in the pagoda grounds are carefully taken care of by the monk and the Buddhists. "Children are happy at home, the elderly are happy at the pagoda", I just hope to be healthy so that I can go to the pagoda to sincerely worship Buddha and live long with my children and grandchildren.

On the campus of more than 5,000m2 , the worshiping structures of Vinh Gia Pagoda such as the Tam Bao main hall, the Mother Temple, the Ancestor Temple, and the guest house are built spaciously, ensuring compliance with regulations. In 2023, the Tam Bao main hall was newly built and completed in March 2024 with a total cost of 5.1 billion VND from the pagoda's savings, the support of local people, Buddhists from all over, children living far from home, and benefactors. Every day, in addition to the time spent attending ceremonies and taking care of the pagoda, monks, nuns, and Buddhists also take care of nearly 200 grapefruit, jackfruit, and longan trees and grow various vegetables, ensuring daily life and activities at the pagoda and having more funds to build a more spacious pagoda.

In addition to being a role model in production and practicing thrift, the pagoda also actively participates in social and charitable activities with a heart of volunteerism, promoting the spirit of compassion and charity of Buddhism.

Monk Thich Phuong Nam, abbot of Vinh Gia Pagoda, said: With the motto "diligent in religious work but not neglecting worldly affairs", every year the pagoda organizes charity activities, visits and encourages families with meritorious services and people in difficult circumstances in the locality, each gift worth 700,000 VND, supporting the fund for the poor and the education promotion fund. In 2020, the pagoda mobilized local people, Buddhists, and benefactors to support necessities and cash, with a total value of more than 100 million VND to support people in the Central region affected by floods. In 2021, the pagoda organized charity activities in the highlands of Meo Vac district, Ha Giang province, giving 105 gifts to poor students and families in difficult circumstances, with a total value of over 150 million VND.

Venerable Thich Phuong Nam added: Thanks to the constant attention to building and improving the quality of the emulation movement, Vinh Gia Pagoda has achieved the title of "Exemplary Pagoda of 4 Landscapes" for many consecutive years. To maintain this title, in addition to actively preaching the good teachings and culture of Buddhism to Buddhists, building increasingly spacious meditation temples, preserving a green - clean - beautiful landscape, the pagoda actively encourages people and Buddhists to develop the economy, do good deeds, and direct their hearts towards compassion. Thereby, it increasingly meets the legitimate religious needs of all classes of people, contributes to preserving the national cultural identity, and builds an increasingly civilized society.
