On the morning of October 31, at Conference Center 25B (Thanh Hoa City), the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) of Thanh Hoa province solemnly held the Grand Ceremony to celebrate the 40th anniversary of its founding (November 1, 1984 - November 1, 2024).

In 1981, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha was established, creating an important premise, urging and encouraging monks, nuns and Buddhists in Thanh Hoa to prepare conditions to establish an association in the province. With the help and favorable conditions of the Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front, departments, branches and organizations in the province, on November 1, 1984, the Provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Representative Board (now the Provincial Buddhist Sangha Executive Board) was officially established at Thanh Ha Pagoda, Thanh Hoa Town (now Thanh Hoa City).

Over the past 40 years of construction and development, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Thanh Hoa province has always promoted the tradition of protecting the country and the people, accompanying the nation, constantly striving to rise up, gradually consolidating, developing and growing in all aspects. The Executive Committee through its terms has promoted the tradition of solidarity and unity, constantly innovating Buddhist affairs; focusing on training monks and nuns in both secular and Buddhist studies. At the same time, it has paid attention to building and consolidating the administrative apparatus of the church from the province to the grassroots in the direction of stability, order and improving the quality of operations. Many monasteries have been restored, renovated, embellished and newly built, increasingly meeting the religious needs of the people.
Most Venerable Thich Tam Dinh, member of the Central Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Head of the Provincial Executive Committee of the Buddhist Sangha, delivered the opening speech of the ceremony.
Currently, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Thanh Hoa province has a total of 224 monks and nuns; has established and consolidated 15 specialized departments of the Provincial Association; established 27 Executive Committees of the Buddhist Sangha at the district level; 187 pagodas with abbots in 27 districts, towns and cities.

Identifying humanitarian and charitable activities as an important Buddhist task, in the past time, the Executive Committee of the Buddhist Sangha at all levels and monks, nuns and Buddhists in the province have mobilized, donated and supported over 500 billion VND to build houses, give gifts to poor households, families with meritorious services, help students in difficult circumstances... At the same time, they have paid attention to and encouraged monks, nuns and Buddhists in difficult circumstances in remote areas to devote themselves to serving the religion and loving the country.
On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of its founding, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Thanh Hoa province calls on monks, nuns, Buddhists, and those who sympathize with Buddhism to spread and connect with Thanh Hoa's children who are studying, working, and making a living in all parts of the country as well as abroad, to turn to their homeland to contribute to building the province's Buddhism, and to build Thanh Hoa province into a model province as Uncle Ho instructed during his lifetime.

At the ceremony, the provincial leaders and the Central Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha awarded Certificates of Merit from the President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to 1 collective and 5 individuals; Certificates of Merit from the President of the Central Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha for the period 1984 - 2024 to 28 collectives and 27 individuals; Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 9 collectives and 19 individuals; Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee to 12 collectives and 14 individuals with achievements belonging to the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Thanh Hoa province and related agencies, units and localities.
