Reporting to the National Assembly, Minister of Justice Nguyen Hai Ninh said that as of September 30, 2024, there are still more than 206,000 people with prison sentences.
Today (November 26), reporting on the enforcement of judgments in 2024 to the National Assembly, Minister of Justice Nguyen Hai Ninh said that the Government continues to thoroughly grasp and direct the synchronous implementation of solutions to complete the targets and tasks of civil judgment enforcement (CJE) and administrative judgment enforcement (ADJ) assigned by the National Assembly.

Effectively implement Directive No. 04-CT/TW of the Secretariat on strengthening the Party's leadership in the recovery of lost and misappropriated assets in criminal cases of corruption and economic crimes, thoroughly manage and organize the implementation of Party regulations on power control, anti-corruption, negativity, and inspection work in THADS activities.
Direct ministries and branches to continue to closely coordinate with local authorities to remove difficulties and obstacles in organizing the execution of large and complicated cases.
Regarding the results of THADS, Minister Nguyen Hai Ninh said that the total amount to be enforced is over 500 trillion VND, with conditions for enforcement of over 228 trillion VND. Over 117 trillion VND has been enforced (an increase of over 27 trillion VND compared to 2023), reaching a rate of 51.46%;
Regarding the enforcement of criminal sentences, Minister of Justice Nguyen Hai Ninh said that as of September 30, 2024, there are still more than 206,000 people serving prison sentences.
Prisons, temporary detention camps, and temporary detention centers have received, classified, and managed 88,680 prisoners serving their sentences; examined and dispensed medicine to over 5 million prisoners; treated over 23,000 prisoners at detention infirmaries; and transferred 3,613 prisoners to hospitals for examination and treatment.
Prepared a dossier requesting the provincial People's Court to issue a decision to temporarily suspend the execution of prison sentences for 116 prisoners; prepared a dossier requesting a reduction in the execution of prison sentences for 86,152 prisoners; prepared a dossier, proposed and received a decision from the competent People's Court to conditionally release 2,055 prisoners early.
The President has signed a decision to grant amnesty to 3,763 prisoners serving prison sentences and 2 people whose sentences are temporarily suspended.
