The Lunar New Year of At Ty is approaching, at this time, flower and ornamental plant growers in the province are rushing to "race" against time to prepare products for the domestic and foreign markets in the hope of having a favorable flower crop with good prices.

Garden owners are busy Orchid garden in Thanh Hoa city.

As a person with many years of experience in growing bonsai trees, following the market trend, instead of importing large, pine-shaped kumquat trees... Mr. Hoang Manh Chien, Dong Ve ward (Thanh Hoa city) has erected bonsai kumquat trees on ceramic pots, vases, jars... in combination with driftwood, ceramic statues... or shaped branches and trimmed shapes to create unique, strange bonsai kumquat trees... According to Mr. Chien, for many years now, consumers have been interested in unique, strange bonsai trees, and during Tet they like to play with bonsai kumquat and peach trees because they have many advantages, such as: Not too large in shape, suitable for most families with small spaces and small living rooms; The tree is easy to care for, after Tet people can still take care of it themselves so that the tree can grow... Sharing his experience in creating unique and strange bonsai kumquat pots, Mr. Chien said: "Depending on the amount of roots of each tree, I can design and create many winding shapes, soft curves or sturdy interwoven branches... The bigger and older the roots of the tree, the more it is old and valuable. The care process must always be meticulous so that each tree has a beautiful shape, green leaves, buds, flowers, yellow and green fruits. This year, in addition to importing pots, jars, and vases with unique and colorful patterns, I also look for driftwood with beautiful shapes and grains to combine with the tree; along with other ornamental plants, I imported 200 more bonsai kumquat trees to create shapes according to customers' orders".

As one of the reputable addresses for selling flowers and ornamental plants, these days, along both sides of Nguyen Trai Street, Phu Son Ward (Thanh Hoa City), gardeners are rushing to transport flowers and ornamental plants to sell to serve the needs of people for decoration and playing with Tet flowers. Buyers and sellers are bustling and enthusiastically offering their goods, making the Tet atmosphere seem to come earlier. According to the gardeners, this year, the types of flowers and ornamental plants are quite diverse in types, sizes and designs, such as: Mai, bonsai kumquat, mini kumquat, or types such as large chrysanthemums, roses, lilies, hanging flower baskets... According to the assessment of many businesses, the prices of flowers and ornamental plants depend on the weather from now until close to Tet, because the weather is warm and favorable, the price will not be high because the flowers bloom a lot, but in cold weather, the price will be higher.

At the Ha Huyen flower and ornamental plant business, to "race" against time, these days there are always about 10 workers working continuously, some pressing buds, pruning leaves, consulting, and introducing flowers to customers. In the past two years, people have tended to play with mini peach and kumquat trees, so Ha Huyen has also imported more. Because these are imported products, preservation and care are extremely important. In addition to watering according to the characteristics of each type of flower, it is also necessary to use techniques so that the flowers do not bloom too early or too late. The purchasing power of flowers and ornamental plants has increased sharply since December 23, mainly serving the decoration needs of agencies, units, businesses and retail customers. For many years, the form of online shopping has flourished, so most flower and ornamental plant businesses have taken advantage of social networks to introduce, promote and sell products, convenient for those who do not have time to go directly to buy.

In peach growing areas in Xuan Du commune (Nhu Thanh), Quang Chinh commune (Quang Xuong)... people are currently busy taking care of peach trees so that they bloom right on Tet holiday. Mr. Le Viet Truong, Hop Ly commune (Trieu Son) has nearly 2 hectares of peach and ornamental plants and said: "This is an important time to take care of the trees, especially the strict application of techniques to help peach blossom and keep the flowers lasting during Tet holiday. Besides care, shaping and pruning the branches to make them beautiful and suitable for buyers' tastes is also considered an important step. In addition to the trees grown for sale, we also focus on taking care of large peach and kumquat trees for customers to rent to enjoy during Tet holiday".

While working hard, garden owners hope for favorable weather so that trees and flowers can bloom, bringing joy and hope to everyone in the first days of spring.
