Overwhelmed with the space of the most unique temple in Dalat

(Dan Tri) - Linh Phuoc Pagoda is known as the most unique Buddhist structure in Da Lat city with unique architecture and owns a series of Vietnamese and world records.
Linh Phuoc Pagoda (also known as Ve Chai Pagoda), located in Ward 11, Da Lat City, Lam Dong. The total area of over 6,000m2 of the pagoda grounds includes the Main Hall, the Stupa, Long Hoa Vien, Quan The Am platform... This is a unique Buddhist structure with a strange architectural style and is also the place that owns over 10 Vietnamese records, 1 Asian record, 1 world record such as: Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara statue made of immortelle flowers (world record); The tallest bell tower in Vietnam in 2008; The largest tree stump made of wood carved with Dhammapada in Vietnam... Linh Phuoc Pagoda was built in 1949 and completed in 1952 with a simple architectural style and small area. By 1990, the pagoda was restored, the space was expanded and the blocks of construction were designed with elaborate patterns, motifs, and porcelain and bottle inlays.
At Long Hoa Vien, the dragon statue was designed and built with a total length of 49m, winding softly through the temple yard, miniature landscape, and lake. The dragon's head rises high, facing the yard, and under the dragon's mouth is a statue of Maitreya Buddha. A Buddhist said that the dragon's scales and fins were shaped from 12,000 glass bottles and ceramics of various types. The unicorn in a window of the main hall is meticulously designed, inlaid with colorful ceramics. Mr. Tran Van Thanh, a tourist from Phan Rang - Thap Cham city (Ninh Thuan) shared: "I learned about Ve Chai pagoda through social networking sites and this is the first time I have visited this place. When I arrived at the pagoda, I was overwhelmed by the large space and the unique construction and inlay of scrap bottles. On the pillars and stairs up and down, there are majestic coiled dragons."
At Linh Phuoc Pagoda, the entire wall surface of the building is inlaid with colorful ceramics and bottles. Each space is designed with different motifs and reliefs, depicting the story of the four sacred animals (Dragon, Unicorn, Turtle, Phoenix), Buddhism, landscapes... Linh Phuoc Pagoda has a unique and strange architecture, so every day thousands of people and tourists come to visit. To build the temple space with the unique architecture as it is today, the abbot of the temple, Venerable Thich Tam Vi (abbot from 1985 to present), invited famous artisans in Thua Thien Hue to directly carry out the construction. The construction took place over many years. The Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara statue made of immortelle flowers was set a world record in 2017. This statue is 17m high, weighs 3 tons and is made from 650,000 immortelle flowers. To build this work, 30 artisans and 600 Buddhists worked tirelessly for 36 days. Linh Phuoc Pagoda was also recognized by the Vietnam Record Organization as the largest tree stump made of ironwood carved with the Dhammapada Sutra in Vietnam. People and tourists stick paper on the bronze bell at the temple to pray for peace and luck. After pasting the paper, locals and tourists rang the bell three times to pray. It is known that the bronze bell at Linh Phuoc Pagoda is over 4m high, 2.3m in diameter and weighs 8.5 tons. The bronze bell was made by Hue artisans in 1999.
