According to information from Vietnam Railway Corporation, this morning (September 13), after the water level of the Red River and Duong River in Hanoi receded to a safe level, the unit immediately organized a freight train to test the load on the bridge.
The railway successfully tested the load of the train through Long Bien bridge and Duong bridge. From this afternoon, the train will run normally.
Previously, the unit had inspected, reviewed, and fixed positions on the bridge, ensuring the ship's safety before testing the load and allowing vehicles to circulate.
The freight train ran at 5km/h over Long Bien bridge and Duong bridge safely from Yen Vien to Long Bien station. Then the train increased speed and ran back to Yen Vien.
Around 1:00 p.m., the train will cross the bridge normally. Passenger trains from Hanoi to Hai Phong will cross the bridge and pick up and drop off passengers at Hanoi and Long Bien stations: Train LP5 departs from Hanoi station at 3:15 p.m.; trains LP8 and LP7 will end and depart at Long Bien station.
From tomorrow (September 14), the Hanoi - Hai Phong route will resume normal operation. Every day, there will be 4 pairs of passenger trains running from Hanoi or Long Bien station to Hai Phong station and vice versa.
Previously, due to storms and floods, the water level of the Red River and Duong River rose. To ensure safety, the railway stopped running trains through Long Bien Bridge and Duong Bridge from 8:00 a.m. on September 10 and coordinated with functional units to prohibit people and vehicles from traveling through Long Bien Bridge from 3:00 p.m. and Duong Bridge from 10:00 p.m. on September 10, 2024.
