Admire ceramic works in “Ceramic Cards”

As one of the artists participating in the exhibition, artist Dang Tien shared that one of the outstanding features of Nguyen Huy Thiep's literary works is the sharp, short dialogues with many hidden meanings, sparkling with two-sided symbols, while being rich in realism, bold in expression and often carrying philosophical depth, which brings a lot of inspiration to the visual arts.

Van Huy (Hanoi) said he had read and admired the works of writer Nguyen Huy Thiep since he was a student, especially the work "Flow, my river"... so when he heard about the exhibition, Huy and his friends took the time to attend and enjoy it.

The exhibition displays more than 100 ceramic works by famous painters, writers, and sculptors inspired by the literary, poetic, and dramatic works of writer Nguyen Huy Thiep, including a series of ceramics painted by Nguyen Huy Thiep himself during his lifetime. He painted himself, his family members, and his artistic friends... as gifts for everyone.

Artist and curator Le Thiet Cuong said that the full participation of artists and sculptors in the exhibition shows the enthusiasm of all artists and readers of Nguyen Huy Thiep. After all, this is a story of morality told through art.

As an artist with a studio in Bat Trang pottery village, artist Nguyen Thu Thuy provided blanks, plates, vase blanks and organized the firing of all the works in the exhibition. The artist said that she was very happy to support the artists participating in the exhibition. Artist Nguyen Thu Thuy also participated in the exhibition with a set of cracked glazed blue plates and vases inspired by the poem “The crane flew and cried out in surprise…” and brown glazed plates from the work The Sawmills: “Hey Ban flower, after a thousand years, will you still be as white?”

The exhibition runs until April 20 at the Cultural and Art Center at 22 Hang Buom, Hanoi, and will then be held in Hoi An, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City.
