GreenUP Long An half-marathon 2024: Run to cover 11,000 trees in the Central region's primeval forests
Nearly 4,000 domestic and foreign runners participated in experiencing the unique route, rich in the colors of the Southern countryside at the GreenUP Long An half-marathon 2024 event.
On the evening of August 24, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Long An province, Coteccons Construction Joint Stock Company (code CTD - HoSE floor), Dong Tam Joint Stock Company, and Tuoi Tre Newspaper jointly organized the GreenUP Marathon: Long An Half Marathon 2024 with the message "The finish line is the starting place" in Can Giuoc district.
The GreenUP Marathon: Long An Half Marathon 2024 brings together 3,650 domestic and international athletes. Athletes compete in 3 distances, including 5km, 10km, 21km. This is the first running route through an international port (Long An International Port) in Vietnam, and is also a green rural route.
The highlight of the tournament is that before each race, the athletes perform the flag-raising ceremony at the tallest steel pipe flagpole in Indochina (in the premises of Long An International Port). The flagpole is 63m high (representing 63 provinces and cities nationwide) and the national flag is 54m2 in area (representing 54 ethnic groups).

With the spirit of creating green spaces and spreading the message of environmental protection, the organizers of the GreenUP Marathon: Long An Half Marathon 2024 have committed to planting more than 11,000 trees in public areas and areas in need of greening in localities to contribute to improving the living environment for the community.
In addition, all items for athletes, from medals to running shirts, are made from recycled, environmentally friendly materials. In addition, before and after the race, athletes can immerse themselves in a cultural space imbued with the Southern region, such as performances of traditional music, folk game booths, and cuisine from the Southwest region.
The organizers hope that in addition to encouraging the spirit of sports training, the race will help spread a green lifestyle to the community. The success of the race where agencies, businesses and the community join hands to spread and act for a prosperous and sustainably developed Vietnam.
GreenUP Marathon 2024 takes place on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Coteccons accompanying the development of the Vietnamese construction industry.
