Grasping market demand, the world's leading technology manufacturing companies have been actively developing new products such as smart watches and bracelets that monitor important health indicators such as heart rate, calories, sleep... or provide recommendations and instructions for users to improve their health through a healthy lifestyle.

More and more compact

In Vietnam, technology products with health monitoring functions are sold quite commonly at not too high prices, for example, Google Pixel Watch costs 6.7 million VND/piece, Fitbit Charge smart bracelet costs 4.4 million VND/piece, blood pressure monitor costs 4.8 million VND/piece... Besides, technology companies also offer many free health support applications such as Apple Health, Google Fit...

Even more convenient is the ring-shaped product of the Go Care brand used to monitor health for only 2.2 million VND. Users can wear the product all day, even when sleeping, without causing any inconvenience.

More expensive are the Ultrahuman Ring Air ring-shaped products priced at VND7 million/piece and Oura Ring 3 priced at VND14.7 million/piece. These rings help track the number of steps taken during the day, distance traveled, calories; statistics on total sleep time, sleep efficiency, sleep latency, sleep score and then provide a summary report with advice for the user.

At a recent mobile event, Samsung launched a ring-shaped technology product called Galaxy Ring. This product has many powerful features such as recording the user's movements at night and detecting signs of sleep apnea. Samsung also plans to connect Galaxy Ring to the Samsung Food platform to provide users with personalized diet plans based on collected health data.

Mr. Truong Thanh Hai (49 years old; living in Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City) said that he is using many technology products and applications to monitor his personal health. For example, the refrigerator has a screen the size of an iPad on the front of the door and an operating system similar to a smartphone that can track the amount of food in the refrigerator and provide appropriate cooking recipes.

Or air purifiers with integrated artificial intelligence (AI) can recognize and filter dust by area; watches with integrated virtual assistants remind users to stand up and move around when sitting at work for too long. "Technology companies are increasingly focusing on creating consumer products with integrated AI technology to effectively support users with health issues and high utility," Mr. Hai commented.

Ms. Nguyen Thu Hien, an office worker (Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City), said that like many of her colleagues, she has paid more attention to her health since the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, products such as smart watches or bracelets that track health indicators, air purifiers with integrated AI, etc. are commonly used today.

Trên thị trường ngày càng xuất hiện nhiều sản phẩm công nghệ hỗ trợ sức khỏe người dùng

There are more and more technological products appearing on the market to support users' health.

Future trends

MSc. Dinh Duy Linh, Director of the Post and Telecommunications Training Center II - Post and Telecommunications Technology Academy, Head of the Communications and Training Department of the Vietnam Association for Research and Application of Biomedical Technology, said that the trend of using technology products for healthcare will become more and more popular. This not only reflects the increasing demand for personal healthcare but also shows the progress of technology in helping to create practical support solutions for life.

"The development of technology products with health care support features also encourages users to be more aware of personal health and improve the quality of life. In the future, technology products will no longer be a tool for entertainment but will be a more practical support for life," Mr. Linh said.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Thuc, CEO of KEYSTONE, technology products that monitor users' health will be a strong development trend in the coming time, based on the fact that people are increasingly concerned about health issues.

"In the near future, household appliances from refrigerators to rice cookers may also apply technology that is suitable for the health of the individual user or family. The recent explosion of AI technology will be the condition for the above products to appear on the market," Mr. Thuc predicted.
