Rectifying illegal electric vehicle operation at Con Son relic site

Báo Giao thôngBáo Giao thông16/02/2024

On February 16, information from the People's Committee of Cong Hoa Ward said that, in response to the reflection of Giao Thong Newspaper reporters, the unit issued a document announcing the ban on transporting tourists by 4-wheel electric vehicles at the Con Son - Kiep Bac Special National Monument.

According to a document from the People's Committee of Cong Hoa Ward, currently the Con Son - Kiep Bac Special National Relic Site has about 15 4-wheel electric vehicles purchased by some individuals to transport tourists around the relic site without permission from competent authorities.

Electric cars operate in the Con Son pagoda area.

These electric vehicles do not have license plates according to regulations, operate spontaneously, are not registered or inspected, and regularly participate in traffic around the relic area.

Especially on festival days, the number of tourists is large, the risk of traffic accidents is very high.

Accordingly, while waiting for competent authorities to guide the operation method as well as grant operating licenses according to the provisions of law, the People's Committee of Cong Hoa Ward requests individuals with the above vehicles to stop providing passenger pick-up and drop-off services. If there is intentional violation, the ward will coordinate with competent authorities to handle according to regulations.

Dozens of electric cars operating illegally have been pulled over by local authorities.

Previously, on the morning of February 16, Giao Thong Newspaper reported that recently, at parking lot No. 1 leading to Con Son Pagoda, in the Con Son - Kiep Bac Special National Relic Site (Chi Linh City, Hai Duong), dozens of 4-wheeled electric vehicles without license plates and without licenses have been brazenly operating to pick up and transport passengers, causing disorder in traffic safety.

From here, electric cars pick up and drop off tourists traveling about 300m to near Con Son Pagoda and vice versa for 10,000 VND/person. Each electric car trip usually carries 4-7 passengers.

Although not licensed to operate, the electric cars still passed through the checkpoints on the road leading to Con Son Pagoda to transport passengers without any obstruction from the checkpoint forces.

According to the representative of the Con Son - Kiep Bac National Special Relic Site , the spontaneous operation of electric cars has caused many problems such as traffic jams on the road leading to Con Son Pagoda, no price regulations, no route and no strict control. The management board has consulted the local government, proposing a management plan, meeting the conditions and a license to operate.
