As the whole country prepares to welcome the Lunar New Year 2025, on January 16, Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Do Van Chien and the Central working delegation visited and presented gifts to the poor and workers in difficult circumstances in Ha Nam province.
Also attending were Ms. Le Thi Thuy, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the People's Council of Ha Nam province; Mr. Bui Quang Huy, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Mr. Nguyen Hai Anh, Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Red Cross Society; leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ha Nam province.
Speaking here, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien shared that in just a few days, our whole country and people will welcome the spring of At Ty 2025, so that every poor person, worker, and person in difficult circumstances can welcome spring and enjoy Tet in a warm and joyful atmosphere. During these days, implementing the assignment of the Secretariat, all Party and State leaders will go to 63 provinces and cities across the country to visit, give gifts and wish Tet to the disadvantaged and vulnerable.
In the warm atmosphere of the gift-giving ceremony, Chairman Do Van Chien expressed his joy when, together with the leaders of Ha Nam province, the leaders of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society and relevant agencies and departments, presented gifts to poor households, workers and families in difficult circumstances during the Lunar New Year of At Ty.
Chairman Do Van Chien emphasized that the gifts given have great spiritual significance and will motivate each person to make more efforts to escape poverty.
“Along with the attention and support of the Party and the State, the efforts of each individual are the decisive factor,” Chairman Do Van Chien shared and hoped that in the coming time, workers, the poor, and those in difficult circumstances will try to work and produce, create livelihoods to escape poverty.
On this occasion, on behalf of the leaders of the Party, the State, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Central working delegation of Ha Nam province, Chairman Do Van Chien sent his sincere gratitude to businesses, organizations, individuals and philanthropists who have contributed spiritually and materially to help the State, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and other organizations take care of workers, the poor and disadvantaged people across the country.
“I hope that all workers and poor people, no matter how difficult it is, must take care of their children’s education. Because only when each of us has enough knowledge, culture and qualifications can the country develop and the era of national development can be successful,” said Chairman Do Van Chien.
Preparing to welcome the Lunar New Year, on behalf of the leaders of the Party, the State, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Central working delegation, Ha Nam province, Chairman Do Van Chien wishes all workers, the poor, people in difficult circumstances and their families a new year of health, happiness, new year, new joy, new victory.
On this occasion, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Do Van Chien and the delegation presented 260 Tet gifts to the poor and workers in difficult circumstances in Ha Nam province.
Also on the afternoon of January 16, Chairman Do Van Chien visited and presented gifts to the family of war invalid Lai Van Luong (he and his two children were infected with Agent Orange) at Group 1, Liem Chinh Ward, Phu Ly City and the family of Mr. Cao Xuan Lam (victim of toxic chemicals), at 139 Pham Ngoc Thach, Liem Chinh Ward, Phu Ly City, Ha Nam Province.
The report on the situation of taking care of the poor during Tet and social security activities in Ha Nam province shows that by the end of 2024, the whole province will have 4,321 poor households (accounting for 1.51%); 5,120 near-poor households (accounting for 1.79%). During the Lunar New Year 2025, the People's Council of Ha Nam province passed a resolution allocating a budget to support Tet care for each poor household of 500,000 VND, each near-poor household of 300,000 VND. The Provincial "For the Poor" Fund Mobilization Committee also allocated 300,000 VND to support Tet care for each poor household and 200,000 VND for near-poor households.
