Nationwide, more than 106,189 temporary and dilapidated houses were eliminated.

Information on the latest results of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front shows that, as of February 14, 2025, according to reports from localities, the whole country has supported the elimination of more than 106,189 temporary and dilapidated houses. Some localities set a goal of completing this work earlier than required.

According to Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front To Thi Bich Chau, at the Central level, at the Launching Ceremony of the Emulation Movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in 2025" held on April 13, 2024 in Hoa Binh province, 14 units registered to support a total amount of 337 billion VND. Of which, 12/14 units implemented the program with an amount of more than 155 billion VND. From the amount registered at the Launching Ceremony, the program announced the allocation of 335 billion VND to support the construction of 6,700 Great Solidarity houses, at the level of 50,000,000 VND/house for poor and near-poor households in 41 localities.

Regarding the results of receiving and using the Central "For the Poor" Fund. The "For the Poor" Fund has received funding to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the amount of over 79 billion VND. This includes 62 billion VND transferred from units registered to support at the Launch Ceremony. On November 22, 2024, the Central "For the Poor" Fund Mobilization Committee allocated more than 13 billion VND to support the construction and repair of 240 houses for poor and near-poor households in Ngoc Hien district, Ca Mau province. Of which, 202 new houses were supported with a support level of 60 million VND/house with a total amount of over 12 billion VND; 38 houses were supported with a support level of 30 million VND/house with a total amount of over 1.1 billion VND. Currently, the remaining fund source is over 66,694 billion VND, this amount will continue to be allocated to localities as announced at the Launching Ceremony Program held on April 13, 2024 in Hoa Binh.

In localities, according to Government data, the total housing support needs nationwide are about 315,000 houses, including: People with meritorious services, people under target programs, poor households, near-poor households... needing support to improve their housing. According to reports from localities, so far the program has supported the renovation and repair of 106,189 houses. Of which, housing support for people with meritorious services to the revolution is 8,560 houses, housing support under the program to eliminate temporary houses and dilapidated houses is 45,659 houses, housing support under national target programs is 51,970 houses. The localities that have completed the most, helping the poor have new houses for the Lunar New Year 2025 are: Nghe An 7,795 houses; Hoa Binh 1,066 houses; Lam Dong 1,038 houses; Lao Cai 1,006 units; Ha Giang 937 units; Bac Kan 878 units; Dong Thap 876 units; Ca Mau 843 units; Soc Trang 1,820 units.

Regarding the completion time of the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, 20 localities have determined to complete it before September 30, 2025. Of which, Bac Ninh province has determined to complete it no later than February 3, 2025; 7 localities have determined to complete it in the second quarter of 2025 including: Lao Cai, Thai Nguyen, Khanh Hoa, Binh Thuan, Kon Tum, Tay Ninh, Long An). 12 localities have determined to complete it in the third quarter of 2025 including: Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Thai Binh, Nghe An, Quang Binh, Hue, Da Nang, Gia Lai, Tien Giang, Can Tho, Soc Trang, Ca Mau. 37 localities have determined to complete it according to the Program, by December 31, 2025.

To continue implementing activities to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for the poor, Vice President To Thi Bich Chau said that in the coming time, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of localities will focus on directing and urging. In addition, it is necessary to step up propaganda, guidance and mobilization of units, enterprises, organizations and individuals to actively support the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, strongly spread the spirit of "mutual love", determined to work with all levels and sectors to complete the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in 2025, making achievements to welcome the Party Congresses at all levels and the 14th National Congress of the Party.

The Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front continues to coordinate with member agencies of the Central Steering Committee on Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses nationwide to mobilize and urge units, organizations and individuals to continue supporting the program through the "For the Poor" Fund at all levels.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels continue to mobilize, contact and urge units that have registered to support and implement the management and use of support sources according to the Decision of the local Steering Committee, the Regulations on management and use of the "For the Poor" Fund and current regulations.

In addition, promote the organization of monitoring delegations of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to monitor the implementation of housing support policies and the organization of mobilization, reception, management, use and support for local people.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of localities shall proactively develop plans to organize supervision in their localities. In this, the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at the commune level and the Front Working Committees in residential areas shall be promoted in supervision to ensure that support is provided to the right beneficiaries, fairly, openly and transparently.
