I hope the pain subsides.
In 2018, seeing her child had swelling, thinking that her child had kidney disease, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Tram (living in Lien Chieu district, Da Nang) rushed her child to the Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital for examination. After nearly a month of treatment, the hospital suddenly transferred her to another hospital.
In the days that followed, the child went to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to receive treatment for muscle spasms. A year later, the mother received news that her child had a neuroendocrine tumor (a type of cancer).
For many years, Ms. Tram and her child have been attached to the Da Nang Oncology Hospital. Seeing her child in pain, she said she only prayed for her child's pain to subside.
Currently, every month, Ms. Tram and her husband have to run around to find 5 million VND for medical treatment (after she had to stay in the hospital to take care of her child, her husband worked as a manual laborer to raise two young children.
Phan Thi Quynh Nhu (Ms. Tram's daughter) has been attached to the 10th floor of the Da Nang Oncology Hospital for more than 6 years. Nhu has become less talkative. From a lively student, she has become almost withdrawn, enduring pain every day.
On the same 10th floor as Nhu, many children with cancer are also fighting the disease. Most of their parents are farmers, manual laborers, or traders. But in addition to the medical expenses covered by insurance, each child must have 3-5 million VND/month to pay for treatment.

Less lonely thanks to Thuy's gift
On the afternoon of May 27, the Thuy's Dream program organized by Tuoi Tre newspaper presented nearly 80 million VND to children with cancer in Da Nang. 15 gifts, each worth 5.3 million VND (including 5 million VND in cash and gifts) were handed to the families of the children being treated at the Da Nang Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital and the Da Nang Oncology Hospital.
Over the years, Thuy's Dream program has regularly supported children with serious illnesses and their families on International Children's Day June 1, Mid-Autumn Festival, Lunar New Year and other special occasions...
Not only does the program provide meaningful and practical gifts to help children have more hope in fighting serious illnesses, but through its activities, it also provides long-term support and encouragement, nurturing the flame of optimism and love of life to help those in the most difficult times.

Doan Gia Bao's parents said that over the years, the gifts from Thuy's Dream program have helped the family pay for medicine, when both husband and wife have to take turns staying at the Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital to take care of their child.
"I thank Thuy's Dream program for helping my child fight illness over the years. The program's gifts vary from time to time, but they help me see the concern of society for the sick, and the whole family feels less lonely while in the hospital," said My Linh, Bao's parent.
