The Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway is expected to increase its toll by 7% to match the financial plan, improve operational efficiency and meet debt repayment obligations. |
According to the financial plan approved by the Ministry of Transport (now the Ministry of Construction) in Decision No. 2323/QD-BGTVT dated December 31, 2021, the expressway toll will be adjusted every 3 years, with an increase of 12% each time. Currently, the toll for using the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway is calculated based on the type of vehicle and distance traveled. Specifically: Cars under 12 seats, trucks under 2 tons, buses: 24,000 – 78,000 VND/trip; cars from 12 – 30 seats, trucks from 2 – 4 tons: 36,000 – 117,000 VND/trip; cars from 31 seats or more, trucks from 4 – 10 tons: 47,000 – 157,000 VND/trip; trucks from 10 – 18 tons, 20-foot container trucks: 53,000 – 187,000 VND/trip; trucks over 18 tons, 40-foot container trucks: 85,000 – 295,000 VND/trip.
VEC said it will publicize information about service price adjustments before applying the new price.
The Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay Expressway is 55 km long, connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Dong Nai and Ba Ria - Vung Tau. The route starts at An Phu intersection (Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City) and ends at Thong Nhat District (Dong Nai). The maximum speed allowed on the route is 120 km/h for the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh section and 100 km/h for the Long Thanh – Dau Giay section.
The project, invested by VEC, was completed and put into operation in 2014. This toll adjustment is carried out according to the approved roadmap to meet the needs of operation, exploitation and sustainable development of this important expressway.
