Navy officers and soldiers pay tribute to families of wounded and sick soldiers

On the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, units at the Naval Region 5 Command and Naval Region 2 Command held activities to express gratitude to the families of officers and soldiers of the units towards heroic martyrs, families of policy beneficiaries, and people with revolutionary contributions in the cause of national liberation, the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

On the afternoon of July 24, in Phu Quoc City, Kien Giang Province, Brigade 127, Naval Region 5 Command organized a meeting and presented gifts to soldiers who are children of war invalids and sick soldiers working at the unit on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2024). Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Luong Khuyen, Political Commissar of the Brigade chaired the event.

At the meeting, the commander of Brigade 127 kindly visited, encouraged and presented gifts to 26 relatives of wounded and sick soldiers; expressed gratitude for the great contributions of previous generations to the revolutionary cause and hoped that the soldiers would continue to promote the good traditions of their families, make every effort to contribute to building the unit, and contribute to firmly protecting the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

Previously, Brigade 127 also visited and presented gifts to 5 policy families and relatives of people with revolutionary contributions in An Thoi Ward, Phu Quoc City. The total value of gifts for the beneficiaries on this occasion was more than 10 million VND.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Luong Khuyen, Political Commissar of Brigade 127, shared: Although the value of the gifts is not much, it shows the deep affection and gratitude of the officers and soldiers of the unit towards those who did not hesitate to sacrifice their blood and bones, and contribute to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

“This is a meaningful activity, not only demonstrating the morality of “When drinking water, remember its source” and “Repaying gratitude” of our nation, but also contributing to fostering revolutionary ideals, arousing patriotism and love for the sea and islands for officers and soldiers, encouraging and motivating soldiers to actively strive to fulfill their assigned duties and tasks” - Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Luong Khuyen emphasized.

At Brigade 125, Naval Region 2, many activities with profound humanitarian significance also took place, expressing the gratitude of the unit's officers and soldiers to the heroic martyrs, families of policy beneficiaries, and people with revolutionary contributions in the cause of national liberation, the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

The unit coordinated with the authorities of Hiep Thanh commune, Duyen Hai town, Tra Vinh province to visit and present gifts to the family of People's Armed Forces Hero Ho Duc Thang and the authorities of Tan Phong commune, Thanh Phu district, Ben Tre province to visit and present gifts to the family of People's Armed Forces Hero Huynh Van Sao, a former officer of the No-numbered Train. Organized visits and presented gifts to the family of Mrs. Muoi Rieu, who had contributed to the revolution, the family of martyr Phan Dang Khoa in Ba Ria - Vung Tau; the family of martyr Tran Quyet Dinh in Binh Phuoc; the family of martyr Ho Van Quang and 2 families with difficult circumstances in Cat Lai ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

At the families, the working delegations of Brigade 125 presented gifts and asked about their health, expressing deep gratitude for the contributions and sacrifices of comrades who contributed to the revolution, those who contributed to the cause of national liberation, national reunification, for peace, independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

Over the years, promoting the fine traditions and ethics of the nation “When drinking water, remember its source”, “When eating fruit, remember the person who planted the tree”, Brigade 125, Naval Region 2 has promoted the noble qualities of “Uncle Ho’s soldiers – Navy soldiers”, the tradition of the unit twice Hero of the People’s Armed Forces; focused on leading, directing, and effectively implementing the policies of the Party, State and Army towards policy beneficiaries and people with meritorious services to the revolution; regularly promoting the movement of “Repaying gratitude” in many diverse and rich forms. Thereby, directly contributing with the entire Party and people to demonstrate responsibility, remembrance and care, increasingly improving the lives of people with meritorious services to the revolution.

In addition, in the series of activities to celebrate the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, Brigade 125 also organized many other meaningful activities such as: offering flowers and incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the No-number Train Monument and the Martyrs Temple; cleaning and renovating the Monument, Temple, and Brigade Traditional House; coordinating with the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union to renovate, clean, and light candles in gratitude at the City Martyrs Cemetery. Visiting and presenting gifts to 28 families of policy beneficiaries, people with meritorious services to the revolution, families of martyrs, and families of soldiers in especially difficult circumstances with a total amount of more than 30 million VND.
