Ahead of the opening of the 12th ASEAN Para Games, host country Cambodia has completed preparations for competition facilities at 7 locations in the capital Phnom Penh.

According to the National Paralympic Committee of Cambodia (NPCC), the 7 venues hosting 14 sports events at the 12th ASEAN Para Games include: Morodok Techo National Stadium, National Olympic Stadium, Techo Sen National Sports Center for the Disabled, Youth Union of Cambodia (UYFC), National Sports Training Center, Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) and Naga World II.
At the 12th ASEAN Para Games, Morodok Techo National Stadium on the outskirts of Phnom Penh is the venue for the most competitions with 8 sports including:
Athletics, swimming, wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball, table tennis, badminton, football for the blind (5-a-side) and volleyball for the disabled.
Meanwhile, disabled athletes in 7-a-side football, weightlifting, judo, boccia, chess and performance e-sports will compete at the remaining 5 venues, including the National Olympic Stadium, Techo Sen National Para Sports Centre, UYFC Federation, National Sports Training Centre, RUPP and Naga World II.
In recent days, disabled sports delegations from Southeast Asian countries have come to Cambodia to prepare for the competitions at the 12th ASEAN Para Games.
Among them, the Philippine Paralympics delegation arrived the earliest, on May 30 with 272 members, including 176 athletes, 96 coaches and technical staff. On May 31, the Vietnamese Paralympics delegation with 164 athletes also arrived in the capital Phnom Penh, ready for the competitions at the 12th ASEAN Para Games.
According to Yi Veasna, Secretary General of the Cambodian National Paralympic Committee, the 11 delegations participating in the upcoming sporting event have 2,692 members; of which, there are 1,453 athletes, 1,239 coaches and technical staff.
Members of sports delegations participating in the 12th ASEAN Para Games do not have to pay for food and accommodation expenses similar to the 32nd SEA Games.
The 12th ASEAN Para Games is scheduled to open on June 3 at Morodok Techo National Stadium, Prek Tasek Ward, Chroy Changvar District, on the outskirts of Phnom Penh.
