That was the view of Dr. Phan Xuan Dung, Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, at a meeting to congratulate press agencies in the science and technology press system on the occasion of the 98th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, which took place today (June 19) in Hanoi. The event was organized by the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations).

At the meeting, Dr. Phan Xuan Dung stated that one of the special strengths of the press in the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations system is information on science and technology, communication and dissemination of scientific and technological knowledge, promotion of scientific research activities, application and transfer of technology, consulting, criticism and social appraisal activities, activities to honor Vietnamese scientific and technological intellectuals, etc.

Over the past time, the press in the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations system has continuously improved its content and reporting methods, meeting the increasing information needs of scientists, intellectuals and readers nationwide. The achievements of press agencies inside and outside the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations press system are very encouraging and proud. However, the requirements and tasks set for press agencies in the current period are very large.

According to Chairman Phan Xuan Dung, he hopes that the press activities of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations will promote their strengths in the 4.0 Industrial Revolution. At the same time, they will properly perform their role as an effective mouthpiece and information agency of the Party and State.

Dr. Phan Xuan Dung informed about the activities of the Association in the first 6 months of 2023. Notably, the Association successfully organized the 60th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's meeting with intellectuals and the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations. General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong attended and delivered a speech at the ceremony. This is a very meaningful event for the scientific and technological intellectuals and the Association.

The Association has coordinated with the Ministry of National Defense and the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology to successfully organize the workshop "Professor, Academician Tran Dai Nghia - Life and career", the workshop gathered valuable documents, sharing about the person and career of the first president of the Association.
