During his working trip to Laos to co-chair the 5th Vietnam-Laos Defense Policy Dialogue, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Deputy Minister of National Defense attended and directed the Vietnam-Laos Young Officers Exchange and Dialogue program. Also attending and directing was Senior Lieutenant General Vongkham Phommakone, Deputy Minister of National Defense of Laos.
Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien highly appreciated the theme of the Exchange Program for Young Officers of the Vietnam People's Army and the Lao People's Army "Cultivating Friendship - Moving Forward Together", praising the functional agencies of the two countries' armies, especially the youth agencies of the two General Departments of Politics, for closely coordinating and organizing very lively and meaningful Exchange activities.
The leaders of the Ministry of National Defense highlighted the role of the youth of the two countries in the period of fighting against oppression and national liberation and continued to play the role of a shock force in implementing the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's policies and laws today.

With a strong political stance and the ambition and aspiration of revolutionary youth, the youth of the two countries in general and the youth of the People's Army of the two countries in particular are always proactive, creative, striving to master science and technology, worthy of being the loyal and excellent successor force of the revolutionary cause in each country.
The Deputy Minister of National Defense hopes that in the coming time, the youth of the two countries' armies will continue to deeply understand the history, significance and importance of the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos and Laos and Vietnam; increase exchanges and share experiences in youth work, especially in gathering, uniting, educating and training young people, building a generation of young people with strong political will, professional qualifications and health to successfully continue the glorious revolutionary cause in each country.
Deputy Minister Hoang Xuan Chien said that the youth of the two countries' armies need to promote exchange and twinning activities; organize revolutionary action movements, build and replicate good practices and typical models, thereby training young people in practice; at the same time, promote the pioneering and creative role of young people, continue to make worthy contributions to the cause of building and defending the socialist Fatherland of each country; constantly foster the Vietnam-Laos relationship, in which the defense relationship must continue to be a bright spot, one of the most important pillars in the relationship between the two countries.

Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien affirmed that the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense will always create the most favorable conditions for generations of young people of the two countries' armies to strengthen and build increasingly close comradely and brotherly relations; encourage young people of the two countries' armies to actively coordinate to organize exchange programs with rich and lively content and forms.
On this occasion, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien sincerely thanked the leaders of the Ministry of National Defense and local leaders of Lao provinces in general, and Luang Prabang province in particular, for always supporting and creating the most favorable conditions for the youth of the two countries' armies to exchange and cooperate. He hoped that in the coming time, the Ministry of National Defense and localities of Laos would continue to pay attention and support the implementation of these extremely meaningful activities.
That same evening, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien and his delegation attended the wrist-tying ceremony and the Vietnam-Laos Young Officers Exchange Campfire.
