'Unlimited cooperation', the phrase repeated many times by the Brazilian President in his exchange with Vietnamese leaders

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva affirmed that his second visit to Vietnam ended successfully with many remarkable results, promoting the concretization of the content of the Strategic Partnership between Brazil and Vietnam.

The President said: “I am returning to visit Vietnam with the most important delegation ever”. This reflects Brazil’s great interest in Vietnam and the affection of the Brazilian people for Vietnam.

During his three-day visit to Vietnam, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva met with senior Vietnamese leaders and discussed cooperation to promote each country's development goals. During the high-level meetings, the Brazilian President repeatedly emphasized the message of "unlimited cooperation" between the two countries.

The distinguished guest from South America was impressed with Vietnam's economic growth rate and expected economic development, exceeding the bilateral trade target of 15 billion USD by 2030.

With that determination, during the visit, the two countries agreed to establish a steering group on economic and agricultural development. President Lula also wanted to promote cooperation between businesses of the two countries.

Brazil affirmed its readiness to become a bridge for Vietnam to enter the Mercosur region and Latin America; while hoping that Vietnam will be a bridge and an important fulcrum for Brazil to enter the ASEAN market with a population of over 600 million people, the most dynamic economic region in the world and the center of growth. Furthermore, Brazil also emphasized its desire to diversify domestic production and the need to exchange experiences with Vietnam.

Vietnam has announced that it will allow the import of Brazilian beef. President Lula da Silva said that he will invest in beef processing plants to penetrate the ASEAN market through Vietnam.

According to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Brazilian businesses will prioritize investing in building food processing plants in Vietnam. “Brazilian beef has improved in quality and is much tastier,” President Lula shared, adding that this is a product that Brazil can confidently “offer.” The two countries aim to maximize trade balance. In addition, the two sides are also working to further promote cooperation in the field of civil aviation.

The Brazilian and Vietnamese people share a love for football, which can become a bridge between the people of two countries half a world apart. Sports exchanges are one of the areas that the two countries need to further promote in the coming time. During the visit, the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding to promote cooperation in football.

In addition, the Brazilian leader hopes that the two countries will strengthen cooperation at multilateral forums such as the United Nations, supporting the role of multilateralism.

The President of Brazil respectfully invited Vietnam to send a high-level delegation to attend the BRICS Summit and the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP30) in Brazil in 2025. According to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, the upcoming COP30 Conference in Brazil will focus on environmental issues and climate change, and together find measures to protect the planet's habitat. Brazil wishes to cooperate with Vietnam in this field at both bilateral and multilateral levels.

“I have attended 16 COPs. This is an important forum for countries to come together to find concrete measures to protect the environment. Each country can speak up and act together,” President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva emphasized.
