In recent days, information has been circulating online that many crab farms in Ca Mau have received notices of being refused to transport crabs to Tan Son Nhat Airport for export. The Ca Mau Department of Agriculture said that this situation has not been recorded in the province.

Previously, information was spread on the internet that many warehouses in Ca Mau received a notice by phone, stating that they had stopped transporting crabs to Tan Son Nhat Airport for export. According to the reporter's investigation, in localities with large sources of raw crabs such as Nam Can and Ngoc Hien districts of Ca Mau province, the situation of domestic crab transportation in general and export in particular is normal.

Mr. Du Thai Binh - one of the owners of a large crab farm in Ham Rong commune, Nam Can district, said that he had never received any notice about the suspension of crab transportation. In fact, the information that "Ca Mau crabs were refused to be transported to Tan Son Nhat Airport for export" originated from the fact that in a zalo group specializing in crab trading, someone posted: "HL, HH, HF product codes are no longer transported due to late payment". However, in reality, the transportation of crabs in the locality has never been interrupted or encountered any difficulties.

“In Nam Can district, at night, there are trucks transporting crabs to wharf 46 in Ho Chi Minh City. There, wharf 46 will separate the goods, which will go abroad, which will go domestically to the northern provinces, Ho Chi Minh City, and then ship them. It has always been done like this, and the current situation of crab purchase and export is still normal,” said Mr. Binh.

In Ca Mau province, there are currently 6 businesses with establishment codes to export live crabs, mainly to the Chinese market. Mr. Tran Thanh Tung - the owner of a business that exports about 40 - 50 crates of crabs per day (in Tan Loc commune, Thoi Binh district) said that he has not received any notice about stopping the transportation of crabs for export.

“The crab purchasing business has been in business for 13 years, and in general, there have been few difficulties. The purchased goods are transported normally according to the on-site purchasing process, then trucks come to pick up the goods at warehouse 46 and take them to the airport. The goods are transported completely normally, without any difficulties,” said Mr. Tung.

The Department of Fisheries of Ca Mau province has just reported on the crab export situation, showing that the crab trading situation in recent days has been normal; There have been no cases of Ca Mau crabs not being able to be exported in the area.

Ca Mau province has an area of about 250,000 hectares of combined crab farming in shrimp ponds; the estimated output is about 25,000 tons/year. Ca Mau crab is not only famous and favored by domestic consumers but also one of the province's main seafood export products.
