With diligence and hard work, along with the application of science and technology in animal husbandry, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh, residing in Thanh Giang village (Au Lau commune, Yen Bai city, Yen Bai province) has succeeded with a model of raising breeding sows according to a closed process, ensuring hygiene and safety.

Born in 1983, after many years working as a livestock feed salesman, I visited and learned from many closed livestock farms in neighboring provinces.
In 2023, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh boldly invested in barns to raise sows in a closed process.
At first, when implementing the model, Mr. Thanh encountered many difficulties, especially in terms of capital and waste treatment to avoid affecting the surrounding environment.
Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh shared that when he started his business, the first and most worrying issue was the environment, how to ensure that the environment, waste, and exhaust from the farm's exhaust fans do not affect the surrounding environment.
"That's the biggest concern. From then on, to ensure this, I collected all types of manure into bags to reuse and sell; for water, I built biogas tanks and filter tanks to get the best water source, avoiding pollution."

The breeding area is built airy, regularly cleaned, sprayed with disinfectants, isolated from the surrounding environment; equipped with exhaust fans, automatic feeding and drinking troughs, and a temperature control system to keep the barn temperature stable. This helps the pigs grow stably, requires less care and limits disease.
With diligence, hard work and the ability to apply scientific and technological knowledge in animal husbandry, the closed-loop breeding model of Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh has so far brought high economic efficiency, guaranteed quality of breeding stock, and is highly appreciated by many traders.
Currently, with 60 sows of reproductive age, each year his family sells 1,200 - 1,400 piglets, after deducting all expenses, bringing in an income of about 800 million VND for Mr. Thanh's family, helping his family develop the economy and get rich.
At Mr. Thanh's family pig farm, there are always healthy, good-breeding gilts ready for mating and replacement when needed to ensure the highest reproductive productivity and ready to provide breeding stock for breeding facilities in the province.

In particular, after providing breeds, Mr. Thanh also actively supports households and farms with breeding techniques to ensure the best growth and development of breeds, bringing high economic efficiency.

"We will have a schedule of what vaccines have been made at the farm and what vaccines are still lacking. We will deploy people to support the farmers, and those farms will continue to make vaccines.
For large farms that do not have experience, we will also send people to support them in the initial stages of brooding pigs to ensure the best transfer process from closed farms to open farms, to prevent loss of piglets," said Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh.

Thanks to the favorable, systematic and scientific business, Mr. Thanh's family's breeding sow farm has created stable jobs for many workers, with a stable income of 7.5 - 8 million VND/month. This is also a typical economic model, highly appreciated by local authorities.
