Speaking at the Award Ceremony, the head of the Jury - writer Le Phuong Lien commented: "We have had 7 seasons of "Fairy Tale Flowers" blooming in the garden of Vietnamese children's literature. Each flower season has its own pure beauty and no season is the same as any other. On this 7th award ceremony, the Jury was delighted to receive short stories reflecting the daily life and emotions of joy and sadness of children in all regions of the country. These are short stories imbued with sympathy for friends in difficult and disadvantaged circumstances."

This year's 18 award-winning works will appear in the 2024 Fairy Tale Flower Anthology. This is the Contest's way of honoring the authors, adding valuable books to the treasure trove of Vietnamese children's books.

The best work belongs to "Tu toc tai" by La Duy Long. (Photo: Thu Mai)

The most outstanding work is "Tu toc tai" by La Duy Long (11 years old, Hanoi). The story tells about the touching secret of the boy Tu about growing long hair, he wants to donate his hair to children with cancer at the orphanage near his house. Through this story, Tu's friends also share the pain of losing his sister. To sympathize with those around them, the young people showed patience and respect for different thoughts and actions.

"I observed the things I loved the most, and suddenly I realized how soft and beautiful my mother's hair was! I had to stand on a chair to comb her shiny hair. From there, I was inspired to write a story with a message of sharing love." - Duy Long, author of the story "Tu toc tai", said.

The contest has become familiar to children and adults who love literature and want to tell stories that convey interesting messages to readers. Perhaps the biggest goal of the storyteller is not for the prize. Each contestant who submits a piece is eager to share what they see around them, their reflections and thoughts on life.

Giang Ha My (14 years old, Hanoi) won the consolation prize (Middle School category) with the work "Smile Ambassador" and shared: "I really like observing things and phenomena around me, and I am also very happy to be able to express those observations in words. When I become friends with words, I feel that my perception of the world around me is deeper and more meaningful. I feel the cuteness from the simplest things."

With rich imagination, the "child" authors expressed their observations and thoughts in a witty, innocent way, but also filled with love. "Based on the food and natural phenomena I like, I wrote the story "The Taste of the Rainbow"" - Le Minh Hai Trieu (12 years old, An Giang) with a radiant face when he learned that his work won First Prize in the Middle School Category. "Through the work, I want to send everyone a story about the bond in friendship, along with a soaring imagination that will take you to very far away places", Hai Trieu shared more.

It can be seen that the Fairy Flower has truly become a creative playground, a community connecting and learning from each other to develop Vietnamese children's literature, contributing to enriching Vietnamese literature.
