( Bqp.vn ) - On the evening of March 21, the General Staff organized a ceremony to honor outstanding young faces in 2023 and individuals with outstanding achievements in participating in the 23rd "Creative Youth in the Army" Award. Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Secretary of the Party Committee of the General Staff - Ministry of National Defense attended and delivered a speech.

Attending the ceremony were Major General Nguyen Ngoc Doan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the General Staff - Ministry of National Defense, Political Commissar of the General Staff; representatives of the Army Youth Union, Army Women's Union, National Defense Trade Union; leaders and commanders of agencies and units under the General Staff.
Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the leaders of the General Staff, Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan acknowledged and commended the achievements of the youth of the General Staff in the past time; at the same time, he requested the Youth Union organizations, cadres, members and youth in the General Staff to continue to promote the glorious tradition of the heroic Vietnam People's Army and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; to be more proactive and creative, together with the youth of the Army and the youth of the whole country, striving to become new youth with "pure hearts, bright minds and great ambitions", contributing to the successful completion of assigned political tasks, further enhancing the glorious tradition of the General Staff.
Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan also noted that the Youth Union organizations, cadres, members, and youths should further promote the emulation movement "Youth of the General Staff cultivate virtue, train talent, be proactive, creative, worthy of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the new era"; constantly innovate the forms of Youth Union activities, ensure effectiveness, practicality, truly be the core force, take the lead in performing tasks, contribute to building a clean and strong Party organization, a comprehensively strong agency and unit that is "exemplary and typical". Party committees, commanders, political agencies, and political cadres of agencies and units should continue to pay attention to creating conditions for each Youth Union organization to truly be a "nursery", a good environment for youth to strive, practice, and mature.
Along with the emulation movement of the youth of the whole country and the youth of the Army, in recent times, the youth of the General Staff have had many exciting and effective activities. From scientific research, training, combat readiness, high-performance sports, to production and business, education, training, and security services, wherever and in whatever field, the cadres, union members, and youth of the General Staff have demonstrated their youthfulness, enthusiasm, passion, and dedication. In 2023, many outstanding collectives and individuals of the youth of the General Staff were commended at all levels, including 2 collectives awarded Certificates of Merit by the Central Youth Union, 4 collectives awarded flags by the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, 8 comrades were honored as Outstanding Young Faces of the General Staff, of which 2 comrades won the title of Promising Young Faces of the entire army. In the 23rd "Creative Youth in the Army" Award, the youth of the General Staff won 2 First prizes, 5 Second prizes, 9 Third prizes, 4 Encouragement prizes; in high-performance sports competitions, they won 751 medals of all kinds, including 65 regional and world medals... The achievements of the youth of the General Staff contributed significantly to the successful completion of the political tasks of the agency, unit and the General Staff.
