The long road took the delegation of the Corporation to the heroic Hieu commune (Kon Plong district, Kon Tum province). It has been a long time since the stilt house of Mrs. Y Xa (Vi Glong village, Hieu commune) was so crowded! In the yard, children were playing, and in the house, there were friendly conversations between Navy soldiers, local officials and family members. Mrs. Y Xa is one of 52 policy beneficiaries receiving support from Saigon New Port in the Central Highlands. Comrade Phan The Vinh, Chairman of Hieu commune People's Committee, said: Since receiving support, Mrs. Y Xa's family's life has been much more stable. Not only receiving monthly support, the family is also cared for and given many valuable gifts on holidays, Tet, and War Invalids and Martyrs' Day... In addition to Mrs. Y Xa, local policy families are also regularly visited and encouraged by Navy soldiers. In particular, on this occasion of July 27, the commune was very happy because Saigon New Port Corporation came to visit, encourage and give gifts and charity houses to policy beneficiaries.

Saigon New Port Corporation visited and presented gifts to families with revolutionary contributions in Hieu commune (Kon Plong district, Kon Tum province).

The house of gratitude that comrade Phan The Vinh mentioned is the house of Mr. A Ghe (Vich Ring village, Hieu commune), one of hundreds of houses of gratitude that Saigon New Port Corporation in coordination with the Central Highlands provinces has deployed since 2016. In April 2023, the house was started with a support of 80 million VND from the "Lifetime Support Fund for Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and Martyrs' Relatives" of the Corporation. In July 2023, the house was completed in the joy of both the authorities and people of Vich Ring village.

Anyone who has set foot in Hieu commune must know about the special climate of the Eastern Truong Son region - heavy rain and cold. In the harsh climate and difficult economic conditions, having a solid house is the dream of many families. In the new solid house, in addition to the joyful laughter of the people, there were also tears of happiness from soldier A Ghe of the Mang La battlefield (now Hieu commune, Kon Plong district) years ago. With his thin, calloused hands, he wiped away the choking tears, and the wounded soldier A Ghe was moved: "I am old, my health is weak, and the old wooden house has long been rotten and degraded. This beautiful, solid house of gratitude is a great gift to me, I am very happy! Thank you to the local government and the Navy soldiers for still remembering and caring for veterans like me".

It is known that, In addition to Mrs. Y Xa, war invalid A Ghe, many valuable gifts were also presented by the delegation to policy households in Hieu commune. The activities in Hieu commune, Ko Plong district, Kon Tum province are some of the activities in the series of activities to the source of Saigon New Port Corporation implemented in the 3 Central Highlands provinces: Kon Tum, Gia Lai and Dak Nong on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day. On this occasion, the Corporation coordinated with localities to start construction and inaugurate 15 gratitude houses and organize activities to honor policy families, take care of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, and people with meritorious services in localities and revolutionary bases of the Central Highlands provinces with a total cost of nearly 1.5 billion VND.

Giving gifts to policy families in Dak Nong province.

Lieutenant Colonel Doan Van Uan, Deputy Head of Political Department, Saigon New Port Corporation shared: In the early days of coming to the Central Highlands, people in remote areas were already familiar with the image of soldiers in green uniforms, so they were quite surprised and unfamiliar with the Navy. At that time, if Navy soldiers wanted to give candy to children, they had to ask commune officials and border guards to "guarantee" that the children would dare to accept it. But now, after many years of implementing the program of coordinating propaganda about the sea and islands, taking care of people with meritorious services, the image of Navy soldiers returning to the village to give gifts to the poor, giving candy to children or giving charity houses to families with meritorious services... has become more familiar to local people...

In the process of visiting policy families, especially policy families in remote areas, economically disadvantaged areas, we can see that each gift, no matter how small in material value, is a lot of joy and trust that we receive. The people of the Central Highlands have always been the same, honest, simple and always patriotic, believing in the Party. Another July has come, the footsteps of generations of Vietnamese people, of the Navy, are still continuing to head towards historical places, people who made history in the Central Highlands - those who fought and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland today.
