Implementing Resolution 06-NQ/TU (dated May 17, 2021) of the Provincial Party Committee on sustainable socio-economic development associated with ensuring solid national defense and security in communes, villages, and hamlets in ethnic minority, mountainous, border, and island areas for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030, Binh Lieu district has achieved many positive results.
Binh Lieu District Party Committee issued Action Program No. 20-CTr/HU (dated January 20, 2022) on implementing Resolution No. 06-NQ/TU (dated May 17, 2021) of the Provincial Party Committee on sustainable socio-economic development associated with ensuring solid national defense and security in communes, villages, and hamlets in ethnic minority, mountainous, border, and island areas for the period of 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030, along with many thematic resolutions, such as: Resolution No. 05-NQ/HU (dated July 16, 2021) on developing education and training to contribute to improving people's knowledge and the quality of human resources to meet the development requirements of Binh Lieu district by 2025, with a vision to 2030; Resolution No. 08-NQ/HU (dated January 27, 2022) on building Binh Lieu district to meet NTM standards by 2022; Resolution No. 13-NQ/HU (dated May 30, 2023) on developing tourism in Binh Lieu district by 2025, with a vision to 2030...
According to comrade Nguyen Thi Tuyet Hanh, Secretary of Binh Lieu District Party Committee, the district always closely follows the direction and orientation of the province, well implements the policies and guidelines on ethnic groups, effectively promotes the three pillars of "Nature - Culture - People", creating a foundation for sustainable development. At the same time, it focuses on exploiting the potential and unique cultural values of ethnic minority communities in the area to develop tourism, constantly improving the material and spiritual life of the people. National target programs have achieved positive results, social security policies have been implemented promptly and in accordance with regulations. The political and social situation is stable, national defense and security and social order and safety are maintained, creating absolute trust among the people in the innovation policy of the Party and State.
In order for resolutions and policies to soon come into life, the entire political system from the district to the grassroots level in Binh Lieu has actively participated, promoting communication and propaganda, aiming to create changes in awareness, as well as high consensus of the ethnic minority community in the implementation process. No longer relying on and waiting for investment resources from the State, people have promoted the spirit of self-reliance and the will to proactively rise up in building new rural areas, escaping poverty sustainably, and getting rich legitimately.
With the attention of the province in allocating resources and proactively mobilizing and allocating resources from the local budget, in recent years, Binh Lieu district has focused on investing in dynamic projects. Among them, many traffic projects connecting tourist destinations, infrastructure projects of Hoanh Mo - Dong Van border gate economic zone, high-quality school projects, and essential infrastructure have been built to meet the needs of social security and serve the development of local production activities.
In addition, to improve people's lives, the district also focuses on restructuring the agricultural sector. In recent years, Binh Lieu has converted nearly 300 hectares of rice and low-yield crops to other crops with higher productivity and economic value; implemented policies to support 11 projects linking production and consumption of cassava products to serve the processing of cassava vermicelli with 105.6 hectares and 641 participating households; developed afforestation with over 700 hectares/year, including increasing the area of local strengths such as anise, cinnamon, so, and pine.
Binh Lieu also focuses on implementing Resolution 05-NQ/HU (dated July 16, 2021) of the District Party Committee and the Project "Developing Education and Training to contribute to improving people's knowledge and quality of human resources to meet the development requirements of Binh Lieu district by 2025, with a vision to 2030". In particular, focusing on improving the quality of comprehensive education for students; universal education at all levels has been improved. Up to now, 94.06% of teachers have met or exceeded the standard; 24/24 schools have met national standards.
Continuing to promote potential and strengths to create a breakthrough in service and tourism development, Binh Lieu focuses on developing types of eco-tourism products, community tourism, discovery - experience tourism, border tourism; supporting and creating conditions for organizations and individuals to invest and develop services for tourists, households to develop homestay tourism... Up to now, the district has 40 accommodation establishments with 313 rooms (3 hotels, 24 motels, 13 homestays) to meet the needs of over 1,200 tourists. In the period of 2021-2024, the district welcomed 393,808 tourists, of which 106,507 were overnight visitors, with revenue related to tourism activities reaching over 240 billion VND.
The solid socio-economic development results, the people enjoying the fruits of comprehensive development are proof of the determination, efforts, and solidarity of the ethnic minorities in Binh Lieu district in the process of building a more and more prosperous homeland. Thereby, continuing to create important motivation for Binh Lieu to firmly step on the new path, achieving new achievements.
