On the morning of June 20, at the Techo Koh Thmar X16 military historical relic complex in Koh Thmar hamlet, Tboung Khmum province, Cambodia, the 47th anniversary of the "Journey to overthrow the Pol Pot genocidal regime" Memorial Day in Cambodia took place under the chairmanship of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet.
According to VNA, the event was solemnly held with the participation of more than 3,000 delegates including senior leaders of the National Assembly, Senate, Royal Government, armed forces, students, the Cambodian Youth Union, and many international guests.
Vietnamese guests attending the event included a delegation from the Ministry of National Defense led by Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense; and a delegation from the Ministry of Public Security led by Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long, Deputy Minister of Public Security.
Expressing his view that he will always remember the participation and contributions of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who supported Cambodia in the cause of national liberation, Prime Minister Hun Manet emphasized that history is very specific and clear, and is a leading important factor of each country and in the relationship between countries. On this occasion, the Cambodian Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the Government and the People's Army of Vietnam for supporting the construction of projects to turn the old battlefield into a historical relic site, becoming a border area of peace, friendship, cooperation and development between the two countries.
