Recently, Cao Xa and Vinh Lai communes, Lam Thao district were recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as model New Rural Area (NTM) communes in the field of education. Up to now, Lam Thao has 3 model NTM communes (previously, Son Vi commune was the first model NTM commune in the province), demonstrating the continuous efforts of the Party Committee, government and people of Lam Thao district in building NTM, aiming to improve the material and spiritual life of the people, creating civilized, rich and livable countrysides.
According to Decision 319/QD-TTg dated March 8, 2022 of the Prime Minister promulgating regulations on model new rural communes in the period of 2021-2025, they must meet the advanced new rural standards in the period of 2021-2025; communes that have been recognized as meeting the advanced new rural standards in the period of 2018-2020 must fully meet the standards required by the National Criteria for Advanced New Rural Communes in the period of 2021-2025. At the same time, the commune must have at least one smart village model and one outstanding field (in production, education, culture, tourism, etc.) with typical local values.
Cao Xa Primary School always innovates teaching and learning methods to contribute to improving the quality of education.
Clearly defining the criteria for building a model new rural area, in Cao Xa commune, on the basis of the locality having achieved the new rural area standard since 2014 and the advanced new rural area standard in 2022, with a relatively synchronous infrastructure, meeting the socio-economic development of the locality, therefore, immediately after achieving the advanced new rural area standard, the Party Committee, government and people of the commune focused on implementing and building a model new rural area, directing zone 5 to build a smart residential area.
Along with that, determining the key factor is to build a model new rural commune in education, in the 2022-2023 school year, from the budget and support of benefactors and businesses, the commune has invested funds to build new classrooms, administration buildings, multi-purpose buildings; renovate, repair and upgrade classrooms, functional rooms and some auxiliary items of kindergartens, primary schools, and secondary schools with a total value of nearly 60 billion VND. Since then, schools in the commune have become more and more spacious, teaching equipment such as computers, projectors, and cameras are increasingly complete and modern, serving well for the innovation of teaching and learning methods. Currently, all schools meet National standards level 2.
Sharing the secret to completing the model new-style rural commune, comrade Ta Tien Dung - Vice Chairman of Cao Xa Commune People's Committee said: "First of all, it is thanks to the solidarity, consensus, and joint efforts of the Party Committee, the government, the Fatherland Front, organizations and people in the commune responding to the emulation movements to build new-style rural areas. Regarding the education criteria, thanks to the active consultation of the school's Board of Directors with local leaders on the necessary material facilities according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, it has helped to invest in education in the right focus, ensuring the rationality for the commune to complete on schedule".
Smart residential area contributes to Cao Xa achieving model new rural commune.
Like Cao Xa commune, in the process of implementing the model new rural construction program, along with economic development, Vinh Lai commune has focused on investing in education. Education work has always received special attention from the Party Committee, local authorities, schools and people, investing in the direction of standardization, fully equipped with equipment for teaching and learning, creating all conditions for students to study and experience in a suitable educational environment; the work of encouraging learning, encouraging talents, and building a learning society has been effectively implemented.
In the 2022-2023 school year, the locality has invested in construction items serving education such as: Building a new administration building and a 2-storey classroom building, 4 subject classrooms in Area B of Vinh Lai Primary School; renovating and upgrading the gym, building a multi-purpose building for the secondary school with an area of 650m2 and renovating and upgrading 2 classroom buildings with 20 classrooms; repairing some auxiliary construction items. Up to now, 3/3 schools have met the National standards at level 2. The educational criteria in building a model new rural area have all met and exceeded the prescribed targets.
Functional classrooms at Vinh Lai Secondary School are invested synchronously and modernly.
Principal of Vinh Lai Secondary School Cao Xuan Hoat said: In the process of building a model new rural area in the locality, along with schools in the commune, the school has also been interested in and invested in synchronous infrastructure; equipment for teaching and learning has been invested in new and modern. The school has full functional classrooms such as: Computer Science, Foreign Language, Physics..., 100% of classrooms are equipped with projectors and televisions. Teacher training, innovation in teaching methods, testing and evaluation are carried out regularly and effectively.
In particular, the school always focuses on maintaining and improving the quality of key education and mass education; the number and quality of excellent students at all levels increase every year. It can be said that with the attention and investment from all levels and sectors, the quality of education in the school is increasingly improved. In addition, parents are always interested in and take care of their children's education, support and accompany the school in all educational activities, which is the motivation for the school to do better and better in the career of cultivating people.
It can be seen that education is one of the outstanding fields for communes in Lam Thao district to choose to build model new rural areas. This also contributes to promoting the traditional historical values of the land of rice and culture, and is an important driving force for local authorities to maximize the collective spirit, the strength of solidarity and unity from the Party Committee, the government and the people to deploy and build model new rural communes not only in terms of quantity but also in terms of quality.
