Arrested for livestreaming online insulting leaders and police

On December 13, information from Thanh Hoa Provincial Police said that on the same day, the Investigation Police Agency of Hau Loc District Police (Thanh Hoa) detained Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuyen (49 years old, residing in Minh Thinh village, Minh Loc commune, Hau Loc district) for 3 months to investigate her behavior of abusing democratic freedoms to infringe upon the interests of the State, the rights and legitimate interests of organizations and individuals.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuyen (white shirt) was arrested.

According to Thanh Hoa Provincial Police, in recent times, Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuyen has continuously used social networks to post and share many false information; insulting the honor and dignity of many organizations and individuals.

Specifically, Ms. Xuyen often livestreams on Facebook and uses offensive words towards many leaders of Hau Loc District People's Committee, Hau Loc District Police and many others.

In December 2020, Ms. Xuyen was administratively fined 7.5 million VND by Thanh Hoa Provincial Police for posting and sharing false information.

Ms. Xuyen used to be a teacher at a secondary school in Ngu Loc commune, Hau Loc district. While working as a teacher, Ms. Xuyen gave beer to students when they came to her house to visit during Tet, and she was fined 7.5 million VND by Hau Loc district police for "giving children beer".

After that, due to many years of not completing her tasks, Ms. Xuyen was forced to quit her job.
