Tu Du Hospital has added a dental clinic for pregnant women

Vice Chairwoman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy and leaders visited the Dental Clinic for pregnant women at Tu Du Hospital

According to Dr. Tran Ngoc Hai, Director of Tu Du Hospital, the Maternity Dental Clinic was launched in November 2023. The project is aimed at early detection and effective treatment of common dental diseases in pregnant women such as periodontitis, gum tumors, dry mouth during pregnancy, etc. In particular, periodontitis is a fairly common disease and can be one of the causes of low birth weight and premature birth.

The project was implemented with consultation from Japanese dental experts and coordination from Ho Chi Minh City Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology. The clinic is equipped with modern facilities, ensuring Japanese standards, providing safe and effective services for pregnant women.

Dr. Nguyen Van Vinh Chau - Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health assessed that this is the result of cooperation between Nagoya City (Japan) and Ho Chi Minh City, contributing to improving the quality of maternal and child health care. With more than 300,000 prenatal checkups and births each year, Tu Du Hospital hopes that the clinic will become a trusted address, helping pregnant women take better care of their oral health.
