(Dan Tri) - People discovered a letter left by the mother next to an abandoned newborn baby boy in front of Long Hoa Pagoda, Thu Thua District (Long An).
On December 23, a representative of My Thanh commune (Thu Thua district, Long An province) said that there had just been a case of an abandoned newborn baby in the area. The local government temporarily handed the baby over to the nuns of Long Hoa pagoda to care for while they searched for relatives.

At around 7:10 p.m. on December 21, some passersby discovered a baby boy about 1 month old wrapped in a piece of cloth abandoned in front of the gate of Long Hoa Pagoda in Hamlet 5, My Thanh Commune, Thu Thua District.
People checking discovered next to the child a piece of paper with the mother's full name written on it. The child's mother is a third-year student at a university.
"Due to difficult circumstances, I cannot raise the child. I continue to go to school, so I send the child to the nuns at the temple to raise and help the child grow up. I will not take the child back. I hope the nuns will help raise the child and not send him to another place," the letter reads.
The nuns of Long Hoa Pagoda received the child and reported the incident to the People's Committee of My Thanh commune.
