At 22, Nico Williams has established himself as one of Europe's top wingers.

According to Sport Bild , Bayern Munich's sporting director Max Eberl believes Nico Williams would be a valuable addition to the German club. Williams currently has a release clause of 58 million euros and a salary of around 10 million euros per year.

He is also sought after by many other teams. To bring the speedy winger of Athletic Bilbao to the Allianz Arena, Bayern Munich had to pay a large sum of money in salary and contract termination fee.

Williams has shown signs of decline this season, scoring just four goals in La Liga. The Spanish star has struggled to maintain his peak form from last summer. However, he is still a transfer target for Arsenal, Barcelona and Liverpool.

To make the Williams deal a reality, Max Eberl plans to part ways with Kingsley Coman, Gnabry and Leroy Sane this summer to balance the wage bill. After spending heavily to extend the contracts of key players such as Alphonso Davies, Jamal Musiala and Joshua Kimmich, the "Gray Tigers" leadership will find it difficult to continue investing heavily in the transfer market.

In addition, Bayern also has a top target, Florian Wirtz, Bayer Leverkusen's brightest star, with an expected transfer fee of more than 100 million euros.

Bayern also successfully recruited Javi Martinez from Athletic Bilbao in 2012 by activating a contract release clause worth 40 million euros. The versatile Spanish defender later became one of the German club's successful transfers.

If they can recruit Williams, Bayern Munich's board of directors hopes that the Spanish winger can open a new period of success for the club, like Martinez in the past.
