Cold rain in the North, heavy rain in the Central region may last until November 8

Cold air continues to affect areas in the Northeast, then affects the North Central region, most places in the Northwest and some places in the Central Central region.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on the day and night of November 5, cold air will continue to affect other places in the Northeast, then affect the North Central region, most places in the Northwest and some places in the Central Central region.

In the Northeast and North Central regions, it will be cold at night and in the morning, and cold during the day. The lowest temperature during this cold spell in the North and North Central regions will generally be between 17-19 degrees Celsius, and in mountainous areas, it will be below 15 degrees Celsius.

In addition, due to the influence of disturbances in the upper easterly wind zone combined with strengthening cold air, the area from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen will have widespread heavy rain and thunderstorms; in thunderstorms there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.

Experts from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting also said that from early morning of November 5 to early morning of November 7, the area from Ha Tinh to Quang Ngai will have heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall from 100-300mm, locally over 500mm; warning of the risk of localized heavy rain over 150mm/6 hours.

During the day and night of November 5, the Thanh Hoa-Nghe An area will have moderate to heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms, with some places experiencing very heavy rain with rainfall ranging from 50-120mm, and in some places over 170mm.

The South Central, Central Highlands and Southern regions have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall from 15-30mm, some places over 60mm (rainy season is concentrated in the afternoon and evening).

Warning, on the day and night of November 7, the area from Quang Binh to Phu Yen will have moderate rain, heavy rain, locally very heavy rain and thunderstorms with common rainfall of 50-80mm, some places over 150mm; especially the area from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai will have common rainfall of 100-150mm, locally over 250mm.

Heavy rain in the Central provinces is likely to last until around November 8, with the possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms. The risk of natural disasters due to heavy rain, tornadoes and lightning is level 1, and level 2 in the area from Ha Tinh to Quang Ngai.

At sea, at Bach Long Vi station, there are strong northeast winds of level 6, gusting to level 7. In the Gulf of Tonkin, the sea area from Quang Tri-Ninh Thuan, Ca Mau-Kien Giang and the Gulf of Thailand, there are scattered showers and thunderstorms.

Forecast, day and night of November 5, in the North East Sea (including the Hoang Sa sea area), strong winds of level 6-7, gusts of level 8-9, rough seas, waves 3-5m high. In the Gulf of Tonkin, strong winds of level 6, gusts of level 7-8, rough seas, waves 2-3m high.

Warning, day and night of November 6, strong Northeast wind in Bac Bo Gulf level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7, rough sea; waves from 1.5-2.5m high.

North East Sea area (including Hoang Sa sea area) strong Northeast wind level 6-7, gust level 8-9; rough sea; waves from 3-6m high.

In the area from Quang Tri to Ninh Thuan, strong northeast wind level 6, gusting to level 7-8, rough sea; waves 2-4m high.

In the area from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau, the Northeast wind is strong at level 5, sometimes at level 6, gusting to level 7-8, rough seas, waves from 1-2m high. The risk of natural disasters due to strong winds at sea is level 2. All ships operating in the above areas are at high risk of being affected by tornadoes, strong winds and big waves.
